Bolin Chen says Kwai Lun Mei is his Real Life Chen You Qing
Since starting their acting career together ten years ago in the movie Blue Gate Crossing, Kwai Lun Mei and Bolin Chen have remained close friends even as they have gone their separate ways in acting projects. Producers would love to reunite them, and recently there was talk of the two of them being the leads for the upcoming drama Souls Embracing. Kwai Lun Mei turned it down, and Bolin Chen followed suit. Both ended up on the cover of Apple Daily this week with a picture of them in tight embrace after a late night dinner. While Kwai Lun Mei has a boyfriend already, and she’s made it clear her friendship with Bolin is really strong but not romantic, it doesn’t stop the gossip rags from insinuating more. Bolin has been asked if Kwai Lun Mei is his real life Chen You Qing, and he’s admitted that she is. Awwwww, and ooooooooh.
Kwai Lun Mei has said that her friendship with Bolin is beyond that of a romantic couple relationship, and she doesn’t ever want it to be more because she wants their friendship to last until they are old and wizened. But they are seriously adorable together, and if you follow their Weibo, they constantly flirt and bicker with each other online. The picture of them hugging this week was Kwai Lun Mei spending her birthday with Bolin and then hugging each other goodbye. These two are like the Yuan Hong–Liu Shi Shi of TW-entertainment. I don’t care if they date, I enjoy their weird nebulous best friends relationship and look forward to them doing another project together. Blue Gate Crossing is an excellent movie and I highly recommend it as a different coming-of-age story.

It would be nice to see them become romantic, but it’s okay, too if that never happens because they’ll always be in each other’s lives.
