Let’s keep this comments section just about discussing the drama Spy Myung Wol, and not the drama surrounding Spy Myung Wol, okay? The written preview for episode 12 confirms that the story will go forward from where Kang Woo’s big declaration left off. I think this upcoming episode will be tons of fun for shippers of the OTP, because it’s … Continue reading →
Dude, Yoon Sang Hyun, what gives? Did you get dressed in the dark today? And a pack of blind birds careened into your hair as you left the house this morning? You know I lub you, but your matchy gear at the press conference for Can’t Lose? You deserve to pay a fashion fine for that. 10 million Won please, … Continue reading →
This episode was really hard to watch, and even harder to write about. Some things took me by surprise, while others were to be expected. Material Queen continues to astonish with it’s attention to detail, especially character depth and nuances that TW-dramas rarely focus on, usually electing to use broad laughs and big tears to leap frog over plot developments. … Continue reading →
Woah, baby. The ending to episode 5 of Protect the Boss was NOT what I had expected. At all. And definitely not this early in the game. Kudos to PTB for continuing to surprise and thrill me. I’m now so fully invested in this story someone will need to chain me to a tow truck to drag me away from … Continue reading →
Just popping in to drop the written preview for Protect the Boss episode 6. I know everyone has the Ji Heon face on just dying to hear about what happened in episode 5. I can confirm that it’s a doozy. This drama goes so fast it’s almost giving me motion sickness. In a good way, of course.
Continue reading →After staying mostly silent through the most disruptive behind-the-scenes occurrence to befall any K-drama, the leading man of Spy Myung Wol finally expressed his thoughts. Eric tweeted a very lengthy message yesterday that contains both his personal feelings and a first-person-account of what he experienced on the set. Shinhwabiz.com (the fan site for Eric’s idol group) translated the entire tweet. … Continue reading →
It’s official. PIE is reverse aging. The latest pictures from the Basso Homme Fall Collection featuring Chun Jung Myung makes him look like he’s still too young to have sprouted whiskers. Maybe the secret is smiling a lot and generally seeming like a happy dude in real life. I think I’m going to try that out. Who knows? If it … Continue reading →
Don’t ask me why I recapped episode 1 of Sunshine Angel (the official English title is Sunny Girl, which I loathe so I’m sticking with the literal translation of its Chinese title) because qualitatively it’s just not that good. This drama is as frothy as they come for a rom-com, but for some reason I really adore the OTP of … Continue reading →
My sane decision to drop watching and recapping the increasingly bizarre (storywise) Spy Myung Wol came up against the (real life) insanity of the drama’s behind-the-scenes spectacle this past weekend, leaving me feeling a sense of compassion for this beleaguered drama and everyone involved with it. I watched episode 11 to see how the heck the story was going to proceed … Continue reading →
God I’m so sick of this story. But it’s necessary to follow it until the end because I feel so bad for the poor cast and crew of Spy Myung Wol floundering around trying to figure out if they are getting a new leading actress, getting the runaway old one back, or simply calling it a drama. Han Ye Seul‘s agency Sidus … Continue reading →
With all the Spy Myung Wol craziness going on in dramaland, it’s easy to forget there are like 10 other K-dramas airing right now, some of which are wonderfully sane productions that are delightful to watch. My case in point is Protect the Boss, which brings me such immediate satisfaction when I watch an episode. The written preview for episode … Continue reading →
KBS has scheduled a press conference for 2 p.m. Seoul time August 16th to announce the future of Spy Myung Wol, though it’s pretty much set that Han Ye Seul will be replaced (no news on whether the new actress will be playing Myung Wol or another character). While the Korean news media reported that Han Ye Seul left Seoul for Los … Continue reading →
I hesitate to call the live-action adaptation of Ouran High School Host Club a drama. That doesn’t seem accurate at all. It’s more like a sitcom – twenty-some minutes of breezy situational fun without much connective plot threads from episode to episode. It treats every character and issue with good-natured earnest mockery, allowing the story to be silly without feeling … Continue reading →
