If there is just one fashion slayer on the red carpet for a Korean entertainment event then I’m a happy camper, even better if it happens to be one of my beloveds. The opening night of the 2017 Busan International Film Festival, the Korean equivalent of Cannes, went off without a hitch and with plenty of star power. It was a sea of white and black gowns per usual with the lone sartorial shining light being Moon Geun Young making her first major public event appearance since her medical hiatus earlier this year.
She went with a tailored shantung suit with a black bra under a gauze black shirt that was pulled off with refreshing style, chic and edgy without going overboard. On the opposite end of that spectrum of trying something new was grown up child actress Seo Shin Ae in a white gown with a plunging neckline that looked awkward on her and didn’t work with her sweet features, she may be grown up but wanting to be sexy should still work with the outfit looking good on her. The other notable standouts are the back cutout on Yoona’s white embroidered gown and the suited perfection of the trio of Kim Rae Won, Yoon Kye Sang, and Kim Jae Wook. Rawr times 3! Continue reading
