There’s a good chance on quality alone that KBS might dominate all the prime time slots next week when new Mon-Tues drama Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul Ho (My Lawyer, Mr. Jo) premieres. If Neighborhood Lawyer wins the ratings battle over Monster on MBC and SBS‘s Jackpot (The Royal Gambler) then KBS will finally have dug itself out of the Mon-Tues hole and feel plenty good about the runaway success on Wed-Thurs with Descendants of the Sun. Additional stills, trailers, and new drama posters are out featuring Neighborhood Lawyer leads Park Shin Yang and Kang Sora prominently, both playing lawyers and quirky ones at that. The drama is adapted from a popular webtoon and Park Shin Yang nails the schlubby but brilliant lawyer fighting for justice one neighborhood legal case at a time. Kang Sora remains warm and charming onscreen but my interest in her always waxes and wanes with how much I like a particular character she plays. Visually Park Shin Yang cleans up great when he goes from bum back to lawyer and Kang Sora actually looks more plausible as a young lady lawyer than many of her near age colleagues who have played lawyers in the past.
