Jang Geun Seok in Talks for March 2018 SBS Drama Peacock King

I recently posted about Jang Geun Seok at the Pyeongchang Olympics event where he was made an ambassador for the upcoming showcase of South Korea on the world sports stage once again. He wasn’t looking his best with the awful flat middle parted hair and more rotund than usual but who cares when he was honored to be selected as the ambassador and seems to be doing great in his career.

Another big news came this week after SBS announced that Jang Geuk Seok was in talks for the network’s early spring 2018 Wed-Thurs time slot K-drama tentatively titled Peacock King. It will follow the police drama Return with Go Hyun Jung and Lee Jin Wook. Peacock King is about a super smart male lead who doesn’t take the prosecutor’s exam and instead does investigations to solve crime as a prosecutor would but outside the restrictions of the legal channels. It’s a legal drama so once again SBS is doing cop-legal drama toggles to start 2018.

Jang Geun Seok if he accepts will play the titular Peacock King, so called because he’s a swindler of sorts by posing as others and committing fraud, but all in the name of meting out justice against the powerful such as politicians and even corrupt prosecutors. Sounds like if Lee Min Ho‘s character in Legend of the Blue Sea spent the entire drama solving crime as a criminal element himself.

  1. Great, Jang Keun Suk will play a great swindler!

Without the help of any mermaid.

Ockoala is right, he is doing great in his career and she will write about him again very soon, even if she doesn’t know this yet 🙂

Before anyone brings up the topic –
Yes, he will go to the army, AFTER the drama, AFTER the Olympics and AFTER his movie “Human time” has it’s official premiere on some prestigious festival. Kim Ki Duk already was fined for his wrongdoings and the postproduction of the film can continue.

And one more thing – his looks are something that change quickly in the better direction. Just wait and see.

  2. For his military enlistment still he has not yet given the date of his enlistment…I think he is better as a con artist for sure he… He can nail the characters for sure

  3. I clicked on the article coz I thought the pix looks weird. Is this a recent pix of him?. Surprised that he has not been enlisting yet. good for him.

    • The photo that made you click is from the SBS awards 2016, where he won the best actor for short series awards.
In 2017 he looks like in the second photo and most of his fans like his long hair.

  4. So no army for him although he is a 87 liner? Damn.. even Lee Min Hoo went to army although he is same age and even has injury. Even Lee Jong Suc is going to army soon (?) Even Kang Ha Neul and Yoo Seung Ho went into army. JKS looks very strange.. I hope he doesn’t take any unnecessary plastic surgery anymore because he used to look fine in his Beethoven Virus and You Are Beautiful days

    • He will go to the army!
Why repeat and repeat the same
And, excuse me, but if Jang Keun Suk has a public service from 9 to 5 like Lee Min Ho, k-netizens will eat him alive.
So let’s not talk about double standarts.

Also I see the usual troll talking about PS here….

If SBS wants JKS as a lead in a drama, all of us will have the opportunity to watch his face in HD and see by oueselves if soemthing really change from 2008-2009 except the maturity.
All the people age, except our troll here, of course.

      • You need to get a pair of glasses lol. Jung Woo Sung, Jo In Sung and Song Joong Ki are the actually good looking ones. JKS looks have been deteriorating and nowadays he legitimately looks.. bad. Not that he was Jo In Sung level to begin with.

    • What is your point?
He will go to the army. A real one. Not a public service from 9 to 5 like Lee Min Ho (who has a serious injury, we know). Lee Jong Suk decided to wait a couple of years.
And about the plastic surgery – just a few days ago a person, who worked in this field, tried to explain to you under another article that you are wrong, so why repeat again?
We live in the world of Ultra HD TV, so when the drama starts, everybody will have the opportunity to decide if the face of Jang Keun Suk is changed or it’s just the maturity of 30 years old man.
JKS is not a pretty boy, he is a handsome man 🙂

      • He looks like an idol boy, not a handsome man.. that’s the result of pushing that idol image for too long and acting in idol dramas. If he starts picking up meatier roles and changing his image again, he has a chance of getting back to the momentum
