Song Seung Heon Stages Political Comeback Toggling Four Kids in tvN Drama The Great Show

Oooh, this one looks potentially adorable and hilarious. I’m never in the mood for serious and dark Korean political dramas but tvN‘s The Great Show is a comedic family take on it with Song Seung Heon doing his best smarmy politician impression. He plays a formerly high flying wunderkind politician who loses his re-election and falls back to earth. He stages a comeback at the same time that he discovers he may be the father to an 18 year old girl, and she’s got three even younger siblings. He ends up as their “dad” reluctantly but likely to his own ultimate benefit, what with growing a heart and perhaps winning his re-election with sincerity instead. Rounding out the cast is Lee Sun Bin, Im Joo Hwan, and a handful of cute kid actors so win, win, and win. The drama premieres next Mon-Tues after Designated Survivor ended this week.

  1. so on board for this, the stoey seems great and SSH is superb in comedies, his acting is much more natural in such roles maybe because comedy is closer to his real personality

    • Ha ha. Because he is less awkwards in comedies. Guess years of ‘experience’ has finally made him realize his limits and he is doing what he finds comfortable.
Intresting part is he is continuously finding writers/directors who are accomodating to him.
