Close Ups Showcase Emotions in Character Poster for tvN Drama Melt Me Softly

This is a really interesting concept to unpeel, and plenty of movies and TV shows have touched upon it. Either time-travel or being frozen in time, there’s a rebirth of sorts once the character lands to kick off the story. For tvN drama Melt Me Softly, the year went from 1999 to 2019 and goodness I’ve lived a lifetime in those twenty years and cannot image just skipping over it. For the leads Ji Chang Wook, Won Jin Ah, and Yoon Se Ah, the first two are the ones that are fishes out of water looking young but knowing they are older and the latter had to let go of her love only to see him return young enough to be her son if she gave birth early. I love love the character posters, so simply in its elegance of just showing up not terribly photoshopped faces of the leads exuding various emotions from intense to playful. There’s a wild ride to navigate, let the audience connect with the characters as much as possible.

  1. This is a good fish out of water concept without having the leads be an alien or a mythical creature who makes silly mistakes in society, like eating cake in a way that gives me second hand embarrassment, or it being time travel that just makes the lore complicated. So much has changed in those years so I expect to see some old fashioned drama but wouldn’t be so frustrated at stupid decisions (like forgetting they can use a smart phone to communicate) because the leads have some catching up to do.

  2. Okay this close up of JCW…is a bit creepy. Is it the eyes? iDK
His female co-stars on the other hand, look fabulous in their posters.
