Kim Dong Wook and Jin Ki Joo Confirmed for KBS Time Travel, Suspense, and Romance Drama Met You By Chance

OMG, Anchor-nim is coming back! I’m just emerging from my Find Me in Your Memory better late than never obsession for the past two weeks so this news is like manna from Heaven. Kim Dong Wook is confirmed for a new drama and not one as dark and DARK as his most recent The King of Pigs. He’s going to headline a KBS Wed-Thurs drama Met You by Chance with confirmed female lead Jin Ki Joo. She’s still waiting for a big hit but has always gotten solid reviews for all her recent headlining dramas with probably the most cult favorite being Come and Hug Me with Jang Ki Yong. Met You by Chance is set in 1987 as the two leads time travel back to that era with him trying to solve a serial murder and her trying to prevent her parents marriage. Dang, someone doesn’t want to be born haha. He’s playing a news reporter turned anchor, a calm direct person who is considerate to others. She’s an aspiring writer and the two cross paths and find out their lives are more intertwined then they realized. I hope this drama is as good as these two deserve and if it is then I might as well inject it into my veins the way I have with Find Me in Your Memory.

  2. I really like her in From Now on, showtime!. She’s a good actress. I didn’t watch King of Pigs, but You Are My Spring was really good. So I’m excited to watch him in a new drama.

    • I am watching From Now On, Showtime! I like it very much and of course Park Hae Jin too. I think Jin Ki Joo has great comedic timing.

  3. Ohhh this will be good! Both the storyline and the casting! Looking forward to it. I liked Find Me in Your Memory and am currently enjoying From Now On, Showtime. Yay! I like news like this. 🙂

  4. Kim Dong Wook had to work hard since ” Coffee prince” to become a great lead actor . He is so versatile and i’m happy that he is having recognition . It shows that all Coffee prince actors were true gems . It’s sad that one of them died so young . It would have been interesting to see his trajectory . As for Jin Ki Joo , she caught my attention a few years ago, , i found her good , pretty with a unique charm . In the same year , i noticed Seol In Ah too. Both are getting more opportunities . Off of topic, but older actors are all working with younger actresses in romances but when it’s older actresses with younger actors it’s always “noona romances”. Can’t we have a good rom com with actors about the same age ?

    • I’m not the biggest fan of Song Hye Kyo or Park Min Young but i found unfair that they were criticized for looking old next their co lead when actors doesn’t seem to have the same problem !

      • Art imitates life. Women are more often the recipients of scrutiny. There are good romcoms with actors about the same age, albeit not many. I think often a drama can only afford to hire one A lister as lead and the other will be an up and coming one. Rather than hiring a not so famous actor about the same age they get more publicity and hype by can hiring a younger rising actor. There are exceptions, of course, with big budget dramas hiring multi A listers or lower budget dramas with new actors etc. This one looks promising. It’s scheduled for KBS wed/Thu slot which is known for low ratings, I hope it’ll break out as a surprise hit. KDW is severely underrated.
