Jerry Yan is the Surprise Guest at the 10th Anniversary Concert of Rainie Yang
After being relatively low key for a few years after he did Down with Love with Ella back in 2010, Jerry Yan is back with a blast recently. His period movie Ripples of Desire opened this past December in Taiwan (he played a pirate and had a love line with Ivy Chen), he reunited with his F4 brothers to perform for Jiang Su STV‘s Lunar New Year program, and this week I belatedly learned that he was once the surprise guest star at Rainie Yang‘s mega concert at the Taipei Arena (also known adorably as the Taipei Mini Big Egg). Rainie’s concert was to commemorate her 10th anniversary in entertainment (back in 2010). Jerry never performed as a guest at anyone’s concert before so this was a first for him. He’s been friends with Rainie since she played Barbie Hsu‘s best friend in Meteor Garden, but its safe to say that Rainie knows EVERYONE in Taiwanese entertainment and is friends with most of her peers. An exception might be Zai Zai, since Beatrice Hsu was Rainie’s best friend and the whole kerfluffle that went back years ago might still be lingering. Back to Jerry, his guest performance was to duet with Rainie on the Taiwanese rock balled “Express Mail Love Letter”, which is one of my faves and originally performed by the rock legend Wu Bai and his China Blue Band featuring one of the best singers in Taiwan Wanfang (her voice, its absolutely AMAZING). Hilariously, Jerry and Rainie butchered the song onstage – Jerry was offkey the moment he rose up from the stage ground and started singing, then he forgot his lyrics, and by the end he and Rainie were cracking jokes instead of singing. LOL, it was actually really funny and sweet. Afterwards, the never-shy Rainie decided to launch herself at Jerry and attach her body to his like a jellyfish to coral. Even better, they actually got stuck together and couldn’t disengage themselves and needed the stylist to run onstage and perform emergency clothing surgery Jerry has never looked healthier and hotter at the F4 performance and I’m hoping he does more acting projects this year, or even better yet, F4 reunites for a reunion tour. Or maybe do a drama with Rainie.
I think its awesome Rainie and Jerry picked an relative oldie Taiwanese rock ballad for their duet. The news reports covers a bit of their performance, and then you can watch the real deal to compare just how bad Jerry and Rainie were in mangling the song. Hey, at least they aimed high and tried.

koala, i don’t want to be the party ruiner, but for some reason i think this happened a couple years ago? way back in 2010/2011 when they were rumored to be the pair in drunken to love you? XD at least i could swear that i saw rainie and jerry on stage a while back and she also got stuck on him XD

HAHA I died at the end, at first I thought Rainie just wouldn’t let go of Jerry but they were totally stuck hahaha “I’m scared I’ll touch her breast” followed by “I’m scared that you won’t be able to find it”. I love both of them; I think it’s awesome how a lot of the actors in the TW industry are close to each other.

What happened with Beatrice Hsu?
Basically way back when after meteor garden and mars Barbie (Da S) and zai zai started dating. (I shipped them SO HARD btw). They then broke up after a couple of years and beatrice (xiao s) barbie’s little sister took things really badly and blamed zai zai for the break up. There are a couple of interviews post break up when zai zai goes onto Xiao S’ show and she’s known to be pretty vicious. Their relationship hasn’t been really good ever since but I’m not sure about now that Barbie’s married, probably they just don’t really deal with each other anymore >.>

First off, Xiao S Engish name is Dee Hsu (Da S is Barbie Hsu).
Beatrice Hsu is 許瑋倫, a Taiwanese actress and singer who is Rainie Yang’s best friend (and also BFFs with Ariel Lin) – Beatrice dated Zai Zai for some time but after he started filming Mars, their relationship ended and shortly afterwards Zai Zai started dating Barbie.
Beatrice took the break up very badly, made all the worse when Beatrice died shortly afterwards of a very serious car accident. Rainie still sings songs dedicated to Beatrice during her concerts.
Rainie and Da S and Xiao S aren’t that close because of this as well.

I think the animosity/anger died down a bit because I know Ariel did a CM with Jerry “recently” (a year or two ago?) but they probably aren’t friends.
Yeahp this is definitely old news already, but just for seeing Rainie Yang in here again for SUCH A LONG TIME, I’m not complaining. Besides, their performance was really cute :3

love how cute these two are, but slightly a bit awkward because I look at these pictures and I see the two of them as Ah Si and Xiao You…and I may or may not have used to ship Rainie with Ken super HARD a long long time ago in a galaxy far away.
