Prime Minister and I Release New Stills and Written Preview for Episode 1

I’m having a hard time believing that Prime Minister and I is premiering this coming Monday. That’s like two days away and part of my brain is still stuck in Fall thinking all these Fall dramas would be awesome. Maybe the crippling disappointment of Marry Him If You Dare truly does have lingering after effects such as I’m mentally time-travelling back to a time of idealistic hope. At least PM doesn’t have to worry much about not living up to expectations when its predecessor couldn’t figure out which way was up or down. After watching the fantastic long preview for this drama, I’m already excited because I know I’ll laugh. I was laughing at mere snippets of certain scenes in the preview and everyone’s comedic timing is spot on. Yoona does the miracle of being animated without overacting in a rubber-faced way. I’ve been quite taken with her wavy hair that looks just a tad messy but still very flattering so I hope she doesn’t straighten it too early to play the trophy wife role. Lee Bum Soo needs no explanation, the man is on the moment the cameras roll and then probably the second someone tells him to read a line, any line. He’ll say it and make you feel it, whether the emotion is humor or raging pain. I’m hoping this angst for this drama, because let’s not kid ourselves you know they will be plenty of it, arrives late in the game and after the OTP have fallen madly in love and will battle the odds to be together. We’ve got age difference, marital difference with one a widower, career difference in Prime Minister v. scandal rag reporter, and gravitas difference since he’s a serious politician and she a flighty emotional cute bundle of energy. Toss in his three kids and her becoming a wife and stepmother, then pour on the contract marriage that was intended to fool a nation, I think we might need a crisis counselor to resolve everything for a happy ending. Enjoy the latest stills from the drama as well as the written preview for episode 1 released by KBS. I think the physical humor is going to be a much needed respite for me from a very dry last few weeks in dramaland.

Written preview for episode 1:

Scandal News reports on the entertainment scene and reporter Nam Da Jung disguises herself to sneak in and snap a picture of starlet Ru Ri kissing her secret boyfriend. She snaps the picture but Kwon Yul suddenly appears beside her and thinks she was taking his pictures so takes her camera and deletes all the pictures on it. Da Jung is furious at her first unfortunate meeting with Kwon Yul but then her editor assigns her to investigate the rumored love affair between Kwon Yul and his chief of staff Hye Joo.

Da Jung has no choice but to try and scoop Kwon Yul, but this man is impossible to handle. So Da Jung runs to his house and wanders around trying to think of how to get an interview and sees Kwon Yul’s youngest son Man Se with the political reporter from another newspaper. She takes him away to bring him home to Kwon Yul. He’s been furious about his son going missing and unleashes his fury on Da Jung. The next day a picture of the two of them is splashed over all the newspapers and a firestorm ignites……..

Prime Minister and I Release New Stills and Written Preview for Episode 1 — 12 Comments

  1. Can this drama start already? There is nothing interesting in the dramaland except Replay 1994 and even that story is dragging right now.I need new blood.

  2. 2 days! That’s all I have to endure. Lets hope for a great start or a mediocre but increasingly good as time goes by.
Fighting to Lee Bum Soo, because weather his choice wasn’t the wisest, he continuous with the filming.
I think the Prime Minister kids will take an important role, getting these two together. At the end they might even help Da Jung and Appa end up together. My only wish is a true ending. Not where they left you with the doubt, or any initial problem resolved. Hate that type of endings!!

    • Are you talking about “the” series? Ahaha. I agree. If they are going for the romance, they might as well go the full way. Give us kisses, a couple and a happy ending. If they don’t want to do that, keep them friends. They know better and they should stick to their plan.

  3. can’t wait this drama! please be good 🙂

koala-ssi, do you know TVN’s new drama “Let’s Eat?” I remembered you said before that you liked yoon doojoon’s sitcom, maybe you will like this too ;D
