Ha Ji Won Transforms into a Yuan Dynasty Consort in Empress Ki
Hhhhmmm, looking good Ha Ji Won! With more than half its run remaining in Empress Ki, it’s only fitting that the titular character Ki Seung Nyang actually gets to working climbing up the court ladder to before the future Yuan Empress. It’s astounding really that the past twenty something episodes have basically been set up. It’s not unimportant and as far as set up goes it’s really meaty stuff. This drama also has two dozen major characters from both the Goryeo and Yuan sides and everyone needs to be fleshed out a bit before the pedal hits the metal. That time has now arrived in the story where Seung Nyang has chosen her path in life which is to get revenge on Yeon Chul and his kin. She blames them for all the pain she has suffered from the death of her father to the death of her baby (she believes) to the death of all her Goryeo maid friends. She hears that Wang Yoo is to be married to Yeon Chul’s niece and realizes they each have their own goal to achieve. Hers is to ground Yeon Chul and Tanasiri and Dangkise into the ground, Wang Yoo’s is to reclaim his throne as the Goryeo King so that he can help the Goryeo people climb out from under Yuan oppression. The Seung Nyang who lost baby Wang Yoo is a woman whose heart has been frozen from all the pain. She has chosen not to cry and wallow in her grief but to become stronger so she can bring down those who have inflicted such suffering on her and others. For that she’s going to have to align with Ta Hwan and make him a strong Emperor. She will also need to become a member of his harem of ladies and from there climb her way up to dethrone Tanasiri as Empress and take her place. It’s a Herculean feat from where she’s currently standing but she has the help of Bayan and Tal Tal and I definitely like her chances with those two on her side. It’s nice to finally see how Seung Nyang chose to become Ta Hwan’s Empress and understand the journey to come. I’m most interested in seeing when she discovers that her baby Wang Yoo is being raised as the Crown Prince and what she’ll do about it. Check out all the latest stills showing Seung Nyang in consort selection in the Palace and the transformation of her character from warrior to maid to elegant consort. Wang Yoo is also sporting facial hair now so there’s been another time jump and I’m getting ready to check out how big baby Wang Yoo is now.
Love to see that the focus of the drama is now SY.She looks really beautiful in white outfit but what I like the most is the expression on her face especially her eyes.Here I come

It’s about time! We had to go thru the whole crazy instant pregnancy and birth to get to this point. I look forward to picking up the series again!
I think the instant everything in the last two episodes was prolly because the writers suddenly realized Oh Shit they dragged on the set up for so long it’s time to just fly over the catalyst and get to the becoming Empress part.
To tell you the truth, the whole pregnancy shenanigans kept me away from this series. I think I’ll go fast forward to this week’s episodes. I want to see Seung Nyang in her fighting spirit against the Regent and family.

Well I for one can’t wait to see what happens when SN finds out that her baby is being raised as the CP… It’s so sad on the count of TH though. It’s pretty darn messed up from his point of view… Not the baby daddy and need I say more. Go SN… I want her to really put TN in her place… The babynapping – even if she doesn’t know who this child is – really really rubbed me in all the wrong ways. Down with her. How about TH actually step it up instead of letting SN do everything. How about throw a curve ball at your bratty empress just like she pulled a fast one on you with the Baby thing. And I really want to know WY’s reaction to 1. He has a son w/ SN 2. Said son is alive 3. Said son is alive and being raised as yuan’s CP and has no idea who his real parents truly are. As an added bonus, I hope he grows up looking like a splitting image of WY – sharp, smart and noble.
The baby shenanigan seems worth it because it’s only going to add to the drama. Can’t wait to see Wang Yoo’s face when he (a) sees Seung Nyang is alive and (b) sees her as Ta Hwan’s consort. I wonder if he’ll ever find out about Baby Wang Yoo.
Yup, definitely watching this to the end.
