It think this qualifies as a week of triple good news for Lego Lee, which just makes me all sorts of happy because I adore the boy and wants him to bath in good news 24/7 if possible. The nominations are out for the 2014 Golden Bell Awards, Taiwan’s equivalent of the Emmy’s as the award that honors the best in television. It’s rare for an idol drama to be nominated in either the best drama, writing, or acting categories but this year In a Good Way landed a solid showing at the upcoming ceremony in October. The drama was nominated in 5 categories including Best Drama, Best Screenplay, and for Jay Shih he was the only member of the sprawling cast to get an acting nod with a nomination as Best Supporting Actor. I love the drama so these nominations make me happy but I’m realistic enough to predict that IAGW might end up taking home one or no statues at the ceremony. Lego and all his costars in IAGW posted their happiness at the basket of nominations including lots of shout outs for Jay’s solo acting nod.

Lego is too busy to be sad that he got overlooked in the lead actor category as he released a three song EP and photo book last week along with a three stop concert series hitting Taichung, Kaohsiung, and Taipei. I love Lego singing and its also something he has a talent for which took a backseat to his acting career. All three songs in the EP are written and composed by him including the fan thank you track he made for IAGW as well as two new tracks he wrote after the drama ended. With this singing foray wrapped up, Lego joins Chris Wang as filming is scheduled to start for their upcoming Friday night SETTV drama tentatively called 22K Dreams Fly High with a bevy of leading ladies including Summer Meng, Yao Yao (Guo Shu Yao), Huang Wei Ting, and Lyan Cheng. Yao Yao’s addition to the drama makes her officially the co-leading lady along with Summer and I believe the onscreen coupling will be Chris-Summer and Lego-Yao Yao. I haven’t seen Yao Yao acting since she was Alice’s best buddy in Office Girls but she must have improved since she took home the Golden Horse Award Best Newcomer statue last year.
