The promotion and watch experience for upcoming K-movie Beauty Inside is sure to be odd, and I don’t mean that in a negative way. The cast is filled to the brim with popular and critically acclaimed actors and actresses all in a guest-starring context, playing the same character of male lead Woo Jin and doing so with limited screen time apiece. The only consistency is Han Hyo Joo as the leading lady, and she’s not exactly the most impressive screen presence around. I like her but it’s more for her warm radiance onscreen than for any memorable acting prowess. I wonder if she’ll fade in the background, be trotted out for promos while the movie ends up being stolen by all her costars.

It’ll be a testament to undeniable movie star appeal and acting intensity to see which of the actors and actresses really shine in this pass-the-baton acting experience, and early indicators show Lee Bum Soo and Kim Joo Hyuk bringing the rawr even in the teaser glimpse.
