Lee Bo Young Settles into Fall for Bazaar Korea and Confirmed for 2017 Remake of J-dorama Mother

It’s been a well-deserved but now much too long acting break for K-actress Lee Bo Young, going on maternity leave over a year ago after welcoming first daughter with husband K-actor Ji Sung. Last month she was reportedly considering her television return in early 2017 with the K-drama remake of Japanese drama Mother. It’s the story of an elementary school teacher who kidnaps her own student to take the child away from her abusive mother. So it’s basically two wrongs which never makes a right, but then again it makes for compelling storytelling.

She is now confirmed for the drama which already has half the script finished and comes from the pen of successful movie screenwriter Jung Seo Kyung who wrote acclaimed movies The Handmaiden, Thirst, Lady Vengeance, and I’m a Cyborg That’s Okay. Motherhood appears to suit Lee Bo Young but her acting was at career highs when she took a break so I’m excited to see her return next year. Last month she did a fall pictorial for Bazaar Korea that combines her usual aura of classy and warm.
