Jung Eun Chae in Lovely Fall 2020 Pictorial and Reunites with Lee Min Ho in Upcoming K-drama Adaptation of Novel Pachinko

Everything about The King: Eternal Monarch felt like a twilight zone version of a Kim Eun Sook penned drama, like everything was off kilter and none in a good way. One sad aspect was the total wasted use of second female lead Jung Eun Chae, normally all KES dramas propel the second female lead to stardom but this one took her career back a step in terms of challenging her in any way. In my mind she’s still in her jeans and jacket searching for malevolent ghosts in The Guest. Thankfully she does have her next project picked out and this one is much less likely to fail for being cheesy or nonsensical – she will join the large cast of the upcoming Apple TV adaptation of the Korean-American novelist book Pachinko which will reunite her with Lee Min Ho as he’s also in the cast. Smart pick for her and she also picked a great pictorial in this fall themed romp through and apple orchard and cherry farm, love the hues and outfits.

  1. Cheesy and nonsensical? Perhaps this view hampered your ability to be honest when you characterized The King:Eternal Monarch as a failure. It’s a huge success around the world and even number one in some places.
And as much as I’m happy for Jung Eun Chae, stating she’s “the second female lead” is blatantly false. She was a “Supporting Actress.” There was only one female lead. Kim Go eun was cast as the star. Your wording, intentional or not, diminishes that fact. She deserves your respect. Your blog is highly recommended and rightfully so. Please be fair.

    Thank you,

  2. lol the defensive stans in this comment section who can’t face that 6 percent ratings from a Kim Eun Sook prime time drama IS considered a flop, Netflix or no.

Jung Eun Chae deserved better and I hope Pachinko will be it for her, I really like the novel and I hope the adaptation is good.
