K-actress Gong Hyo Jin has such a fresh, quirky, chic vibe she’s the opposite of what I would think of a makjang queen whether in dramas or in real life. But for her next drama she’s going full meta and the drama sounds like it’s a drama-within-a-drama. She’s signed on for the Netflix produced K-drama Woman of Crisis playing the top rated screenwriter of Korean makjang dramas, her series get picked up on her name alone and she averages 35% ratings. Lol, sounds like a fantasy in this day and age. I would love to see how Netflix takes that tried and true genre and twists it up for a global audience, birth secrets and kimchee slaps and crazy eyes and all. The drama is slated to go into production sometime this year with the screenwriter of I Like it Hot and the PD of How to Use Guys with Secret Tips.
