I’m so conflicted with tvN Wed-Thurs drama Mouse, much like the male lead Ba Reum played by Lee Seung Gi. I want to love this drama so much with a fantastic cast and slick execution on top of a twisty script. But emotionally it just doesn’t resonate with me the same way the writer’s previous super twisty thriller God’s Gift: 14 Days did. This drama needs an anchor character and I thought it would be Lee Hee Joon‘s Moo Chi and he remains as close to the stand-in for us as any character in the drama. But the story keeps wanting to prioritize shock and awe new surprises over making me care, so now we have Ba Reum still maybe the serial killer from the start or perhaps now has a serial killer brain implanted in him after his brained attack by Yo Han. We still don’t know which man grew up from the babies carried in utero that carried the serial killer gene, and the Head Hunter seemed to have way more tricks from the past that we have yet to uncover that now roped in Hong Joo. And I’m annoyed that the creepy rapist that assaulted young child Bong Yi is out and seems to be targeting her again, like da fuck is society letting these serially evil creeps get second chances. Not to mention I’m still salty over Yo Han’s death which I’m certain was an innocent man trying to stop who he thinks is a serial killer getting caught in the crossfire because people just don’t say what needs to be said. If Yo Han went to the cops with his collection of evidence that may have been more useful, yes? But knowing the style of this screenwriter I know I just can’t quit her so sigh, I’m in it for the long haul good or bad.

I hope they don’t go the “brain transplant” route, it would be too ridiculous. About yohan, I agree it was very cruel of the writer to kill him off like that. But I can sort of understand why he wouldn’t go to the police. He was probably convinced no one would believe him considering how he was treated by other people his whole life
