The sweet summery SBS Mon-Tues Our Beloved Summer has been a low rated series since premiere but for those who are watching hopefully its been a good watch so far. A new reason to watch has showed up this week with K-actor Kwak Dong Yeon making a cameo opposite male lead Choi Woo Shik. I love me some Kwak Dong Yeon anytime anywhere and am pleased he’s continuing to be visible after a much deserved breakthrough with Vincenzo earlier this year. The ratings have gone up since episode 2’s low of 2.6% with it residing in the 3% range for the next three episodes and the most recent episode 6 got the current series high of 4%. Again, these are really low ratings still for prime time drama on a major network but if it’s just meant for the slice of life contingent then I hope it does that genre well.

I’m obsessed with this drama. The chemistry between the leads is out of this world.
lts one of my favourite drama now. I like it a lot, it’s filmed very well, beautiful OST and I really like both leads. It’s been a while since a drama makes me discover 2 new faces, I’ll look out for them both in the future. Chemistry is great and their love story is bittersweet.
CWS and KDM had crazy chemistry even when they were trying to kill each other in The Witch. Glad someone finally gave them a proper romance and the chemistry wasn’t wasted.
It’s funny, I really like this drama but in the same time I found the characters and the story pretty weird. I was kinda disapointed they made the FL’s story so cliché too.
I wonder if KDY made a cameo because he’s friend with Park Jin-Joo, who played a friend. I want to see him a main role! When he left FNC, I thought we will see him more as a lead, he left FNC with the lead in MBC family drama. But since, he made cameos or was supporting characters…
Please please anyone who isn’t watching OBS please watch it. You won’t regret it. The chemistry between the leads is magic but the dialogue and the very realistic yet heart fluttering portrayal of relationships is beautiful. The characters are non toxic and CWS is…I have no words you have to watch him he’s a natural. KDM is much much better than her previous character and very relatable. The pain and longing of the characters is brilliantly executed and the ratings honestly don’t reflect just how good the drama is. These little gems are the reason I still have faith in kdrama.
It’s wondrous to see how much a talented cast and sparkling chemistry between an OTP make a difference. One of the best kdramas of 2021.
indeed, a gem of a drama. I get some ‘Reply year’ vibes particular in being curious on what really happened. This I think is more like a record of being young in this time and age. And since they are documenting the past as well, it’s meta-feels. As someone older, I may not agree with some of the choices and actions of characters, but I recognise that they are of different generation and some documentation of this is enlightening (esp for the future). So well done production team and actors!
I, too, am obsessed with this drama. My attention is captured completely. This is one drama I can truly say where the acting is superb, perfect, on point. There’s not one scene I missed or fast forwarded. The lead actor is amazing, and so is the lead actress and the rest of the staff.
Sorry… the rest of the cast.
Agree with all the comments. This drama is so wonderful. The script is nothing new but the actors are so good they really elevate it. And the OST is no joke.
I love this drama. Wooshik and Dami look great together. Their acting are marvelous as well. It’s doing great in Netflix. I do hope the ratings at sbs continue to increase as the story gets more exciting.
