Well this is meta and fairly awkward all around. Japanese entertainment magazine Screen has been holding a Overseas Television Show Awards for years and this year 2022 is the 8th annual edition. The votes are in from Japanese viewers and C-drama Word of Honor took Favorite Overseas Show with another C-drama The Untamed in third place. For the Favorite Overseas Star category which combines actors and actresses in the same poll it was Word of Honor male lead Zhang Zhe Han who came in 1st place., and other C-stars who made the list was The Untamed‘s male lead Xiao Zhan in 3rd place and Word of Honor’s other male lead Gong Jun in 8th place. Clearly J-viewers have a fondness for BL-novel adapted C-dramas but having Zhang Zhe Han be a favorite star in Japan right now just seems so poorly timed (for him) considering he was cancelled hard for visiting Japanese shrines that venerated Japanese military figures.

The fact is Zhang was unlawfully canceled out from Chinese entertainment industry without any official investigation or proof of any wrong conduct. The tourist picture he took in 2018 by the Japanese lake that famous of cherry blossom scenery, The tourist location was well recommended by Chinese Central TV station and all the tourist book. How come one single cherry blossom picture became a proof of shine warship in Chinese social media and went viral over night on 8/13/2021, along with Chinese famous search engine Baidu intentional Twisted the real location of Japanese Shine and uploaded a introduction of Naimu Shine at 8/12/2021. The whole act was to frame Zhang and destroy him entirely.
He was framed by vicious competitors in the dirty Chinese entertainment industry. Thousands of hired blackmailing accounts by vicious opponents and antis attacked him and spread rumors on his political standing, which was proven to be all false persecutions later. In his officially verified instagram, he played a video announcing that he was attacked by the other leading actor in the Word of Honor series. Fans of the other actor then lied saying the video is made by AI. Even more ridiculously, recently he appeared in his mother’s tea shop for about an hour, meeting many visitors there, signing for them and taking photos with them, while videos took by visitors spread widely on the Chinese internet. The antis made up audacious lies saying it was a 3D projection of him! Do not follow the antis’ lies!

He’s been able to show his face on various social media sites recently, maybe the contract to take him out expired and wasn’t renewed. Still, it would be extremely hard for ZZH to return as an actor. No production company would risk having their show pulled since the person who harmed ZZH is still at large and hasn’t been caught.
He should pack his things, relocate and start over. Preferably in Japan or USA where people do not mind worshipping mass murderers and war criminals.
