So I heard about this two weeks ago when the scandal first broke but since I don’t follow C-pop I didn’t realize how big it was because I didn’t know how popular this young star is. Idol-singer Cai Xu Kun (Kun) was named as the young top star who had a one night stand with an underage young fan and then forced/pressured her into having an abortion when she got pregnant. Kun wrote a personal clarification and apology – admitting he dated the girl but said she was not underage and there was no forced abortion, just a normal relationship between two people. He has not been officially cancelled as he’s still holding concerts and fan meetings but he was fully edited removed from an already aired episode of popular variety show Keep Running (C-version of Running Man). Reportedly his kinda still unfolding downfall/scandal has opened up a spot in the twenty-something liuliang male star perch and lots of young actors are trying to take advantage to get hot.
