It’s additional promo time for tvN drama My Lovely Liar leads Kim So Hyun and Minhyun in a magazine pictorial. There isn’t much to say beyond I LOVE THEM TOGETHER and it’s just the vibe of fresh, young romance emanating from the pages. For those who think these two look-a-like in the sense they have couples face it’s totally true and even more they actually exude very similar and complementary auras. Hopefully the drama plot is good or at least half-way decent because I don’t want to have to drop this drama when it premieres at the end of July.

This is such A+ casting, they’re totally compatible visuals-wise and the chemistry from what I’ve seen in this photoshoot, in the posters and the promo vids, is crazy! My favorite pic out of these is probably the one where they’re holding hands. Love the intimate vibe of these photos!
Seriously these 2 have far exceed the visual and real life chemistry expectations I had. They do look very similar in a couple face kinda way and their aura and synergy gel really well. Minhyun mentioned that he and Sohyun spend the most time together on set which I’m hoping means our gorgeous OTP are together for majority of the drama which means tons of funny, cute and lovey dovey scenes for them. The more kisses the better. I’ve always maintained that same aged or close aged pairs are the best for romance dramas and these two are just that. Sohyun has been nailing the chemistry with all her male leads who are close in age which thankfully has been most of her lead role filmography. These 2 are going to make our hearts flutter like crazy so bring it.
Yeah, I agree with everything you said, especially that the best romantic onscreen couples are mostly the ones where the pair is in the same age range! Can’t really enjoy big age gaps in romance dramas, doesn’t matter if it’s the man or the woman who’s way older, I just can’t get behind that *cough Bring it on Ghost cough*
It’s not a coincidence that she had the best chemistry with Song Kang and Na In Woo, and now with Minhyun, these young men are close to her in age and that definitely plays a part

The Flower Boy look that’s extremely popular in Korea. Which is why we have idols who all look the same. Cha Eunwoo and L being the epitome of Flower Boys and personally Minhyun and Eunwoo look very similar so I’d put him in the same category. This looks was also popular in the US when Leonardo Di Caprio and Brad Pitt were in their early 20s. It’s a timeless popular look that appeals to a large audience. Men in makeup is never a negative. Even nude makeup is still makeup and no celebrity can dare to go in front of a camera without makeup. It’s career suicide.
I agree. From James Dean and Elvis to 90s boybands and Dicaprio and now to Tiktok boys and Kpop idols, the pretty boy look will always be popular as there’s clearly a demand for it. I myself like that aesthetic. I’ve always hated the hyper-masculine look on men lol. Pretty boys have the beauty of women but also has some characteristics that keep them from looking the exact same as women. It’s like the best of both worlds, that’s why I like the look.
Plus, as you said, there’s nothing wrong with men wearing makeup. I’d rather see clean-looking, perfectly groomed, and beautiful korean male celebs over rugged and dirty-looking men that the west likes so much lol
Also, Minhyun doesn’t even look like a girl in that pic, I can see that he’s a man just fine. A very pretty man, yes, but still masculine enough to not look like a girl, so dunno what the commenter is on about lol
To think these are just scans but HMH and KSH are still serving THE CHEMISTRY. The most compatible couple I’ve seen this year. Excited for the drama and the beauty of their visuals.

The Young Love definition perfectly describes this pictorial. They look like a couple madly in love with each other. Don’t think I’ve seen either be this comfortable with their romantic counterparts before.
They didn’t do much magazine pictorials with the opposite gender before, so there isn’t much opportunity to display such side with their previous co-stars. KSH’s last couple photoshoot for a fashion magazine was like 7 years ago when she wasn’t even in the legal age yet, while HMH is relatively new to acting so there’s nothing to compare so far, really.
Come to think of it, I wish she and Jang Dong Yoon had a couple photoshoot during Nokdu era, I really liked her chemistry with him as well
She also had photoshoot for Love alarm but that was with both the co stars so I cannot really call it a couple photoshoot. I really wonder how does this photoshoot works. Does it depend on actor’s agency or drama productions? Because sohyun rarely have couple photoshoots for the drama whereas for some actors they have couple photoshoots for all their drama.
@Bubble It has a lot to do with the willingness of the actors as well. KSH has always been reserved and works hard to keep her public imagine squeaky clean to avoid rumors and gossip. However she recently said she wants to reinvent herself so its possible she decided to step outside her overly cautious eco system to go all out for her drama promotions especially since its a comeback after 2 years. Hybe would have given HMH magazine shoots irrespective of KSH because they heavily promote their artists but the couple shoot can only happen when both parties are willing. Especially since this is a romcom it might have been a motivation for KSH to put in more effort.
I’m skeptical about Minhyun’s acting. He’s not very charismatic as an actor. He was pretty disapointing in Live On. I hope he got better.
Can’t wait! I hope the drama won’t disappoint me. I like her so much.

Wish we had the HD pics instead. Don’t know why ELLE isn’t releasing them. The chemistry is insane and these two might the best suited couple we’ve had in awhile.
I think it’s because it’s for the August issue of Elle, so we might get more HD pics next month. By the way, it’s too bad Koala didn’t include the two solo shots of So Hyun, especially the closeup shot where she’s wearing something like a pink satin slip dress, that was stunning
