I thought K-actor Lee Jong Won got his big leading man break already being cast opposite Honey Lee in her upcoming sageuk drama Night Blooming Flower but before that has even aired he’s getting a second A-list drama costar. He’s been cast as Shin Mina‘s leading man in the modern rom-com Because I Don’t Want to Lose from the screenwriter of Her Private Life. I don’t know how he’s getting these roles because while I thought he did a really solid job in Gold Spoon and kinda stole Yook Sung Jae‘s thunder it was more because he had the better character there. I don’t see him (yet) as leading man material opposite such established top actresses but heck if I know, he may be ready to level out and snatch himself a firm spot in the leading man carousel.
There are weird casting choices and this one is weird from both the leads itself…

Argh I wish it was Lee Jae Wook
The ML is supposed to be younger, he is a part time worker after all, so makes sense they would cast a younger actor. Never heard of Lee Jong Won, hope he’s good.
Oh sorry my bad! Lee Jae Wook is young too 😅 i accidenly mixed him up with Another Actor … LJW is even younger than Lee Jong Won.. but maybe LJW is a bit too young? He’s born 1998…
The problem with k-ent now is that there are so many productions ongoing for regular terrestrial channels, cable networks, otts and the web that casting has become extremely difficult. If you secure 1 big star, the likelihood of securing an equal for that star boils down to availability even when they have big financial backers or if lack of budget after paying that 1 big name they end up with someone less famous and take a chance on it. Too many productions being churned out like how it is with kpop side. Groups and groups of newbies. Matter of time only for industry correction to take place from the burnout starting with Disney's pull out from kdramas. Apple likely next. Coupang is already gone from the list.
Apple was never involved in kdramas and Coupang is still producing works
