Okay so this is a sigh of relief for me lol, because I want to keep looking forward to this drama. The period C-drama A Dream Within a Dream (书卷一梦 or A Dream Within a Book) has signed on Liu Yu Ning for some time and initially Li Yi Tong was the female lead. The it became Yang Chao Yue and the collective shrieks of fright ensued. Now two weeks later word in the casting rumor mill is that is is going to be Li Yi Tong as the female lead after all. I don’t love her but also don’t dislike her so overall it’s a relief so go forth and make a drama worth watching peeps.
It seems like Koala is the big fan of Liu Yu Ning. She keeps getting all the updates, even melons and rumors about him and his new dramas which includes judging the potential female lead actresses. She seems worried about his works will end up as flops after he insulted many co-workers.
Li Yi Tong is a high profile actress. She deserves much better male lead than him.
It’s so boring. And I still clicked to read comments and am kinda urged to TROLL! LOL

The long list of actresses rumored to reject being the FL for this drama is just to set up the narrative that all actresses, be it respected senior actresses or pretty junior actresses are avoiding LYN. All this just to make him seem like the c entertainment pariah. LYN isn’t even confirmed as the ML but of course if another actor ends up being the ML for this drama, ya’ll are just gonna claim that it’s because no actress wants to work with him. The hate and smear campaign against LYN aint gon end any time sooner on weibo, douban or bilibili. Never seen another celeb with the honor of a “rat poison” hashtag. He can’t fight this. People are willing to invest money to destroy his career even after AJTL finished airing. And the fans of his ex costar and current costar are more than willing to play along. Does he have money to pay to remove bad hot searches or videos of him or pay for other celebs’ bad ones to drown his own? He better quit acting before he loses his OST gigs too. Who even sees him as a threat when they find him ugly anyway
There are days I wake up and turn to Koalas Playground to read it post..It feels like groundhog day… The same names pops up again but in different drama names…I swear the last post about this person was just 2 days ago.

@Lilith, remember the post on the misjudged artiste from years ago? I think the reason that Koala wrote the post was because she must have just found out Yang Zi also supported the male actor… Koala is rather fond of Yang Zi…Yang Zi was still young but brave to stand up for the actor
Well, it’s obvious to me that Koala has her favourite actors and actresses, seeing as how she first missed out on Zhu Yilong’s photo when she posted about Weibo King and Queen.
As for that post on the misjudged artiste, Yang Zi could be the reason, or it could also be someone else. Not gonna dwell on it further, but if she mentions that someone again, then it would be clear as day to me that that previous post was meant to drag another person.

I have watched him only in TLB, a bit of BYIL (somehow I can’t get into contemporary C-dramas- maybe I am too used to Kdrama way of modern story telling. I have to confess I didn’t finish JTL which seemed more like an ensemble drama than a LYN headliner so it seemed unfair to blame him for the drama falling flat in the second half. We will know for sure his star power when the dramas where he gets top billing drops. Can’t wait.

I agree LYN acting is OK not great but serviceable and watchable,that great in my books imo, depending on the type entertainment industry he is in, what more do u want. If he loves this crafts with experiences he will get better for sure.
Agree. He’s a also a great singer tho’ ballads are not my cup of tea. . He’s talented enough and has a great screen presence. He just needs to work with great directors and pick projects carefully. I agree with people who found him overrated in JTL. He may not be conventionally handsome but he’s got this very unique interesting face and that’s very good for an actor. You don’t want the perfect mannequin look which can get pretty boring. I really like his intensity which was not used in JTL. He just became a lovesick bland puppy which was so out of character for a cynical lethal assassin.

I want actors like Alen Fang who can act to get lead roles, that’s what I want. Hell, he is even hot and hotter than LYN if that matters so much.
Alen Fang can act circles around this guy and yet no real backing and he is forced to play second fiddle to LYN and his ilk who aren’t fit to shine his shoes.
So yeah, I want people like this who are “improving” to go improve in support roles instead of getting pushed by money into leads. That’s what I want.
Unfortunately Alan feng,when he is a lead loses his appeal n charisma imo , most of his shows that he has headline as lead did not do well. I fell he is a great supporting actor than a lead actor, that where he shines. He is just not a lead material no matter how good of an actor he is and am yet to be proven wrong
@Smh – I agree, I think Alen Fang is the whole package. I’m not really understanding why he doesn’t get more opportunities to lead besides the cheap productions.
@Mercy – could that be a script/writing problem though? I feel like everything he’s gotten where he’s the main lead have been cheap cheesy productions. I think he’s a better actor than most other idol actors but not exactly at the level that can turn a cheesy script into gold.

Alen Fang may need to wait for his time to get more lead roles. No need to drag one down to raise another while the article is not even mentioning your fav.
I want Alen Fang to get more leading roles too. I feel he can act and has charisma but all of his leading projects that he got was low budget with bad script. When you have bad script, even the biggest stars would not be able to save it. Till this day I don’t understand why no one is backing up this guy. He got loads of talents. He can sing, dance, and on top of that he’s very handsome imo.
This thread has become an anti-fan comment for LYN. I personally find him quite wholesome. His fighting scenes are really good in AJTL. and to consider he filmed part of the series with a broken foot. He is really dedicated to his work!
I personally really like LYN too. I appreciate koala posting about him as a result. This blog could become solely about LYN and I’d be in heaven haha. I’m just choosing not to engage with people who don’t like someone that I like because people are allowed to have different preferences. When the comments get TOO NEGATIVE, I figure it’s not about my artist anymore. I’d rather go somewhere safe to fangirl in delight.

We will see. He’s got great screen presence and the buzz. A good director likes great screen presence because that’s half the battle won. LYN may not be the world’s greatest actor but the camera loves him. He needs the right roles that capitalizes on this. I thought he held his own as the nice boy next door in BYIL against the veteran leading lady. E
