SBS Drama The Judge From Hell Casts Park Shin Hye, Kim Jae Young, and Lee Kyu Han

There is a new K-drama rounding out the main casting and I expect it to start filming soon. SBS drama The Judge From Hell earlier announced leads Park Shin Hye and Kim Jae Young, and this week confirmed that actor Lee Kyu Han will be joining the cast. Park Shin Hye plays a Judge who is really a Demon that sends evildoers to Hell for repentance and wow is it taking the law part of law and order literally in a biblical sense. Kim Jae Young plays a detective and Lee Kyu Han is the CEO of a real estate company. I like the cast and the subject matter sounds interesting but lately finding a K-drama that interests me is like a needle in a haystack so I’ll just wait and see how this turns out.

  2. There were still a few interesting 2023 K dramas for me, not so much in 2024 though, not so far. I’m indifferent to the main cast but don’t dislike them. Will see if there’s satisfying intensity and suspension in the plot.

  3. I’ve had a huge crush on Kim Jae Young since I first saw him in 100 Days My Prince, all because I find him really gorgeous (I’m shallow lol). Really wished for him to break out and I thought he was going to when he was cast in that Kim Sun Ah drama, but I’ve never heard about him ever since. Glad he’s cast in a drama with a popular leading lady again! Will definitely check this out just for him lol

    • i like him since i saw him in Blade Man, where heโ€™s one of SSKโ€™s friends. I really need him to break through so bad but none of his projects really allow him to shine

    • I am also shallow lol and also remember how good looking he was in 100 Days My Prince with the bodyguard styling. He was the needed eye candy in that drama as I do not find Doh Kyung-soo good-looking. There is something so attractive about that Joseon bodyguard styling because the first time I noticed Ahn Hyo Seop was playing a bodyguard in ‘Splash Splash Love’ ๐Ÿ˜ณ

      • @Ling Yeah it’s sad how he hasn’t yet seem to have found that one role that will allow him to break out. But I’m really rooting for him. He’s a decent actor and I just really love watching him onscreen!

@Sunny I totally get what you mean with the attractive Joseon bodyguard styling! lol ๐Ÿ˜‚
I was also very attracted to Song Jae Rim in Moon Embracing the Sun, Hwang In Yeop in Tale of Nokdu, and Kwak Dong Yeon in Love in the Moonlight. Funny thing is, I don’t find Kwak Dong Yeon that attractive in his other dramas, so there definitely is something about the Joseon bodyguard look that makes guys look hotter ๐Ÿ˜‚
In Kim Jae Young’s case tho, he’s really just a beautiful man who looks great even with modern styling, but yeah, he was extra hot in 100 Days My Prince lol

      • Adding me to the Joseon Bodyguard fan club. LOL.

Also agreed SJR was an eyecandy in Moon Embracing the Sun.

      • @Dejuvu: YES! I crushed on every single one of those guys in their Joseon bodyguard mode hahaha! I think it’s the black outfits and and their hair is usually loose compared to the topknot Joseon men wear (SJR and KDY’s hair in their dramas was๐Ÿ˜˜) and their characters are all cool and badasss!

@Somebody: Haha! Welcome to the fanclub๐Ÿ˜Œ

  4. I hardly watch any Kdramas, but definitely intrigued by this casting so will see if the trailer is interesting.

  5. Shin Hye is mostly a kiss for me, Iโ€™m afraid. Sheโ€™s a good enough actress as long as she isnโ€™t crying and doesnโ€™t do kiss scenes. Iโ€™d be fully onboard if she was just a bad ass assassin, but sheโ€™s done that already.

    I may pass on this.

  6. re: 2024 dramas, Miss Night and Day is turning out quite funny and charming, definitely an unexpected treat for sure! I’ve always liked Jung Eunji and thought she was unfairly underrated but I think this has potential to be the second big hit of her acting career after Reply.

    • Really, then I have to check it out. Thanks for the tip.
I love the Reply 1997 drama so much. More than the feller Reply dramas. And I do want to support her dramas but they felt so lackluster… I still remember Trot Lovers … meh…

  7. The plot sounds interesting but are we supposed to root against Park Shin Hye’s character? Because she doesn’t sound so bad if she is punishing criminals especially knowing how unfair the Korean justice system is. It’s good to see Kim Jae Young in the ML role and playing a different type of character. I wonder if they will have a loveline?

This is her second drama this year. I’m surprised to see Park Shin Hye is working this much post-marriage/baby break. I thought she would work less as she seemed unenthusiastic about acting over the last few years but maybe she has re-discovered her love for acting.

  8. Don’t know why I remember Lee Kyu Han solely for his old school dramas. Mainly, for My Name is Kim Sam Soon and Smile, you. Im swept away by nostalgia. Maybe I’ll watch something old school again. LOL

  9. I watched PSH in Dr. Slump this year and trust me, she has improved. It felt like the leads were in love with their explosive chemistry. I also appreciate the J-Drama feel to it.

I do have certain reservations about this one though. I think I’ll wait for the drama to end first.
