Kim Tae Ri is Flawless in New Prada Makeup CF Campaign

K-actress Kim Tae Ri is a style chameleon to me, the same way her acting and performances are constantly excellent regardless of genre. She can pull off tomboy and feminine soft beauty equally well and for the new Prada fall makeup campaign in South Korea she’s doing the latter flawlessly across various lipstick shades. It helps that she brings a smidge of acting to pictorials where it never feels static to me.

  2. Kim Tae Ri is stunning. Seriously. And even in pictorials or CFs, she’s never looked like she has dead eyes which is quite common with other actresses. Excited for JN!

  3. Look at the perfect symmetry of her face! Recently we had this uncultured dumb person on this site claiming that only a certain race is the most beautiful so I am glad Ms K posted these pics of beautiful and talented KTR . All races have beauties. I wish that dumb person good luck with her small Hollywood colonized mind.

    • I honestly feel Asia’s are very beautiful, carrying some uniqueness to them.
This funny this is,people make assured statement when they are not knowledgeable enough on certain issue in first place. They think they are all smart but i see naviety at it finest.

    • yeah I can never understand people who only look at a person’s race to determine beauty. beauty is literally about facial features, bone structure, symmetry, proportions, all that stuff. kim tae ri is absolutely beautiful, she has very youthful features paired with a well-developed bone structure, so she’s one of those rare beauties that look baby-faced but elegant at the same time. no wonder she can pull off so many type of looks!

    • @Jana, she MAY NOT or may be a racist as many on this site labeled her. But to attribute her bias to Hollywood is quite a stretch. LOL. People don’t need to have any exposure to Hollywood culture to rate Western beauty standards higher than Asian aesthetics. That’s just their bias. Everyone including you and me has our own bias of visuals.

Put in these ppl’s shoes!! That’s their preference, not necessarily having to do with racism. Take myself for example, I can never get the visuals of Timothée Chalamet, the IT actor in movie Dune. However, he is the heartthrob of many Western girls. I always prefer Asian men’s looks to Western men’s looks. Then call me with small Kdrama colonized mind by your logic!!!! LOL. (Kdrama is indeed colonizing some parts of the entertainment world.) The deduction is pretty comical.

      • @Somebody There’s a HUGE difference between saying, “I PERSONALLY PREFER Asian’s looks to Western men’s looks” and saying something like, “Caucasians are the best-looking people, East Asians could never compete”.

You get what I’m saying? One is stating a personal preference, that’s why no one would tell you that you have a “KDrama colonized mind”. Meanwhile the other statement is saying that a single race is superior and the others will never be able to compete.

Again, do you understand now why that commenter is being called a racist? It’s literally giving Neo-N*zi, “Aryan master race” vibes

      • @Somebody, Timothée Chalamet has great visuals ( He is endorsing Bleu de Chanel since Gaspard Ulliel died ) but i don’t get the hype either . Perhaps because i’m a woman and not a girl . My faves are Pierre Niney and Vincent Lacoste (french actors) French actors may not have great visuals but a lot of them are charismatic . The same goes for Asian actors, most of them have great looks but when they have charisma too, that’s the jackpot for me .

      • @cahill, do you know how many American fangirls and fan ladies are crazy about Timothée Chalamet thanks to PG-rated Little Women and then Dune? He’s new Robert Pattinson in Twilight. LOL. I read the novel of Little Women many times and watched any version of the adaptation as possible cos like Gone with the Wind, Little Women is one of my favorite American classics. I just don’t like Timothée’s interpretation of the pivotal character, Laurie. He’s too dreamy. LOL.

I’m not familiar with French actors though. Which English or Irish actors appeal to you?

      • @Somebody, I used to be a great fan of Louisa May Alcott, i have watched so many adaptations of Little Women, from June Allison , Meredith baxter Birney, Winona and Christian Bale , the BBC one with Maya Hawke, to the Greta Gerwig’s adaptation .All my english , irish actors are old now but the list is long, Richard Armitage, Shawn Evans( great Endeavour Morse),Matthew MCFadyen, Colin Firth, Rupert Henry Jones, Benedict Cumberbatch,Martin Freeman , DAVID TENNANT, Christian Bale,Sam Claflin, …Tom hardy,…there is no end .

      • @cahill, I do recognize Colin Firth, Matthew McFadyen, and Rupert Henry Jones. All of the three had done Jane Austen’s adaptations that I watched. Specifically, Firth was the iconic ML of Pride and Prejudice. A lot of women of my generation loved McFadyen’s version of Mr. Darcy though. 😁

Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins in one of my all time favorite films, The Hobbit, was amazing.

I guess all these British actors you mentioned had very solid theatrical training in Shakespeare’s plays. They were magnetic on screen. I honestly can’t take some flower Asian actors (idols) seriously cos their acting is a joke compared with these brilliant British actors. Good dramas never get old. Same for excellent actors! I still love the works of the 4 actors above nowadays.

      • @KDramaEnthusiast

        Well stated.

One of the earlier comments even said attractive East Asian celebrities are only considered attractive in their own countries because they lack variety and good-looking faces and they can never be in the same league as Western celebrities.

Does this look like a forum for white supremacists? lol I’m appalled to come across such comments on a blog literally about East Asian entertainment!

When I started getting into Asian dramas and music 10 years ago, I’ve already heard similar words from people who, for some reason, found it funny to mock Asian things and cultures. It’s sad this hasn’t changed much at all.

  4. KTR is so beautiful and also one of the most talented actresses of this generation. She deserves all this success. Happy for her!

  5. She looks fabulous in these CF stills.

Nonetheless, I’ve never considered her pretty in motion on screen. Yet to watch her works. I’ve already heard many compliments about her acting. Unfortunately, none of her dramas so far seem to interest me at all. The well received 25 21 is school romance. I’m most lukewarm about this genre among all.

    • Twenty Five Twenty One is much, much more than a “school romance”. It’s an inspiring coming of age dramedy about achieving your dreams, friendships and first loves. I’m a “mature” viewer and it’s one of my all-time favourite shows.

I suggest that you also check out Mr Sunshine, because it’s an epic masterpiece. Kim Taeri is stunningly beautiful in it.

  6. Gorgeous ads. She is so pretty with such a gamine, harmonious face and, more importantly, a great actress. Even that pageboy haircut she got for her last drama which would look horrendous on most women looked so chic on her.

  7. I’ve only ever seen Kim Taeri in one drama – Mr Sunshine and one movie – Handmaiden. And yet they were enough for me to see how she is to most, the best actress of her generation. No one came close 8 years ago and no one comes close even today. She looks stunning here, and really suits Prada.

    • You’re missing out watch her in revenant and 2521 asap. Even in her movie the little forest, she’s not doing much other than cooking and eating 😂😂 but it’s still such a nice watch.

      • I really hate sad endings so I’m out for 2521 lol. Mr Sunshine killed me, but at least I knew it was coming and hardly anyone can complain about how it ended. 2521… I’d rather not go through the heartbreak lol

  8. stunning! i’ve always thought her visuals is very luxurious, that’s why the role of lady aeshin in mr sunshine suited her very well. she and kjw really give off noble lady vibe

  9. She was superb in the Flower Kenzo cf a few years ago . With the beautiful song of Tom McRae ” What a way to win a war”.

  10. Yang Zi did the same ads for Prada Beauty in China yet the difference between YZ and KTR was so vast. YZ innate tackiness made Prada Beauty into Ali Express level. YZ ads were so tacky that you will not even consider that she’s advertising luxury beauty products coz YZ appears like a uncivilized ahjumma from the boondocks
