Kim Hye Yoon the New Female Lead in Talks for Fantasy Romance K-drama Human Starting From Today
There is a new development with fantasy romance drama Human Starting From Today. It was originally offered to Shin Se Kyung but it appears that will not happen and K-ent is reporting that Kim Hye Yoon is now considering the role of the loving life gumiho female lead. The male lead remains Park Solomon (Lomon) and I like this pairing more than Shin Se Kyung, Kim Hye Yoon feels more age appropriate and is a stronger more consistent actress. The PD directed Love to Hate You and the script is from the writing team of Best Chicken.

Oh, a rich, vain gumiho that only likes to play, be forever young and avoid human and a narcissistic soccer player who ends up causing her to become human in an enemies to lovers setup….I am so ready. Also its a 12 episode drama. I am in. Give it to me.
I like this pairing.
I like well done stories involving gumihos.
We all know the fantastic actress that KHY is.
Solomon is an actor who gived good performances until now and he did not make enough people disappointed with his acting yet. I’ve noticed he acts much better when working with “veterans”. KHY’s fans do not need to worry.
I’m so excited with this casting news. I hope this will be confirmed soon. Would like to see KHY in a new drama again .
I am aware Byeon Woo-seok is much more popular then Kim Hye Yoon but I do like her more… she has spark in her.
Looking forward to her new drama when it does get confirmed.
Kim Hye Yoon has much more experience , i just love her since her debut . I hope for Kim Hye Yoon the same thing i used to wish for Park Eun Bin . I like Byeon Woo-seok but he stills like a rookie for me . He needs to do more projects before gaining full recognition as an actor .
Currently, these last few years…I noticed I am watching for Korean dramas to Chinese ones… I do hope Chinese dramas gets better. I struggle to even find a few new actress that will be interesting to watch.
I feel the same about BWS. He has his charm in Lovely Runner that I watched first. But then he exuded similar aura and acting in Record of Youth that was filmed years ago. Yet to see how versatile he is to persuade me to be his fan. I hope he’s not Lee Min Ho 2.0.
@Somebody, @cahill, I personally am unsure if BWS will spark further… He is not a rookie actor, maybe years of not breaking out may have temper him. Just my own opinion, no offends to his fans.
@Hl ,to tell the truth i feel the same way as you about BWS, i’m afraid that his Lovely runner ‘s character was perfect for him but will he be able to challenge himself ? Is the reason , i said that i still see him as a rookie , because i watched him in another dramas in which he wasn’t the lead , i found him lovable but acting speaking it wasn’t all that . But i want him to prove that we are mistaken !
@cahill, exteremely happy to be proven wrong too!!
I feel the same way with BWS. I think he was great in LR but I noticed he had to take a lot of instructions from the director and is constantly asking about how best to act a certain scene. So I’m not too sure if he will be able to perform just as well with a different team. I guess we shall have to wait and see. I also think the role of Sunjae was so well-written, any other actor could probably carry it just as well. But I cannot
imagine any other actress aside from KHY who can portray the multifaceted layers of Im Sol. I can’t wait for this one. Park Solomon is new but I see a lot of potential and I think KHY would be the perfect person to draw it out! 2025 needs to come faster!
Oh, I definitely like this pairing more and KHY over SSK.
This sounds fun and suits KHY more than SSK. KHY will be cute as a Gumiho. I also find the male lead good looking and promising. And this will be on Netflix.
I like SSK’s baking vlogs more than her dramas. They have such an ASMR vibe to them.
Oh SSK declined the role now? This sounds like a much more promising project for KHY compared to the potential drama with Joy that was mentioned a while ago. It will be a fun drama for KHY to film and sounds like this will be an FL centred story. I haven’t seen the previous works by the PD or writer so I don’t know if they ae good or not. Also never seen Lomon in anything but he is handsome!
I love fantasy genre. Unfortunately there’s one exception – anything gumiho.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just thinking about the idea of gumiho alone make me cringe. LOL.
@Somebody: Oh my gosh! I never thought I would find somebody who feels the same way! I like fantasy dramas but I can never get into Gumiho dramas. I’m not even sure exactly why. I think it’s something to do with the fact that they are fox spirits and not people originally and some dramas even give the characters tails. It just creeps me out as it feels like they are a bit too close to animals for humans to be having relationships with them.
Hmm I never thought about that. It makes sense.
For me I hate gumiho story coz they never properly address folklore regarding them. For example why people say gumiho like to seduce or eats human liver. In drama, the only property left is immortality and some random superpower
It’s similar to vampire stories in the western films. LOL.
I will take any KHY’s dramas!
For Solomon Park, he’s not bad but pretty green. He likes his fantasy/SF dramas with All of Us Are Dead and Branding in Seongsu.
Agree he’s pretty good in branding in seongsu, I would take this drama for him
Wasn’t he also inn Revenge of others ? He is a rookie but not bad .
Heard it only has 12 episodes. Can’t wait!
The whole storyline sounds more interestung than the other darma KHY’s name was attached to. Park Solomon may not have that many works but his previous ones had been pretty interesting and he acts well in them. Somehow I can see this workin well. Hope the writing will be good.
Love Kimhyeyoon lotss and she is awesome in all her works and if she opted for this drama and then definitely it will be a success 👍
Talk about a timely casting! Kim Hye-yoon voiced a character who fell in love with a gumiho for a soju commercial, and now she is playing one
