    • He filming in serious projects for movies: Hopeless, Bogota: City of the Lost, My Name Is Loh Kiwan.
For dramas, I think, he choosing more commercial projects.

    • I don’t know if any project can be more serious than Hopeless and My Name Is Loh Kiwan not only with the plot and subject matter but also with the kind of acting demanded from him.

  2. I like melodramas, if they’re mature ones, and I saw a lot of positive comments about writer previous drama “Run On”. People saying writer wrote healthy relationship of two adults well.
Plot for My youth sounds uncommon, so I’m anticipating to that drama.

  3. I must say the synopsis did not grab me much at first look.
I like how SJK is building his filmography.
SJK is always Booked and busy on tv and in movies with a vast array of projects.
People need to see SJK’s career outside tv dramas. He is taking very serious challenges in movies.

  4. His dramas in recent years have not performance as well as investor’s expectations but he still has solid fan base…I hope this drama will be good.

    • That’s simply wrong. His latest drama was Reborn rich which was a massive hit in Korea. The investor gained big with that drama. Vincenzo was a solid hit and very popular world wide too, they are even planning to produce the american version of it.

      • I agree. Vincenzo was great…But Reborn rich was disappointing. Not his acting, just the script is not great.

      • HL: I enjoyed the first 15 episodes of Reborn rich, probably even more than Vincenzo. But I heard about how it ends and didnt bother to watch the last episode. But all in all, it’s still a great 15 ep drama lol

      • @Stranger..I enjoyed beginning..in fact, my heart was feeling with excitement with each eps…till later part…I fell flat..

      • I will accept my error for not reading it right. But I really enjoyed Vincenzo… Just not Reborn Rich…started good. Script issue..not Song Joong Ki’s deliverance.

    • Did you not mistook him with someone else? Reborn rich was a big hit, Vincenzo were a hit.
The only drama not performance solid expectations of investors was the Arthdal chronicles, but despite harsh critic and strange division of the 1st season it got decent ratings on tvN and #1 on Netflix Korea. I can’t remember any of his drama to be a flop.

      • Based on all the comments I got…I am definitely mistaken…my bad. Vincenzo is great for me…
Reborn rich, it is just not so. But I will accept my error.

    • I think that you’re wrong, his last drama was a big hit and it’s in the top 10 cable dramas with the highest rating in Korea.

    • Umm, Vincenzo and Reborn Rich were huge ratings hits. Maybe you’re thinking about Arthadal Chronicles, but that was a one-off. Before that was DOTS. He’s been doing great.

      • I will admit, I did not think about Vincenzo, I enjoyed that alot. But I should have added it is not his acting or character shaping that is the issue. Reborn Rich script really did not work for me towards middle-end.

      • @ HL , how many times are you going to beg for mercy ! 🙏🙏🙏Lol , you didn’t commit “un crime de lèse majesté ” . Both dramas did great but Vincenzo was fun to watch even if the final episode wasn’t what i wished for . As for Reborn Rich, it began great but the lastest episodes didn’t make sense for me ! It’s true that SJK choose high ratings projects but he may not have the same amount of endorsements as he used to .It happens when actors get married .

      • @cahill, I did make a error of judgement..must admit my error. 😂

Cahill, I recently looked at tickets to pop over to Paris for afew days…but many of my favourite eateries are close over Summer…Will wait till next month.
Btw, there is a Boulangerie I am super keen to visit: lepaindetharshan.fr/en/home/ This baker won best baker of the year and currently supplies President with bread daily for 1 year. There is a YT video of him. His baguette looks so good

    • @HL: “Vincenzo” was a big success commercially and critically and is SJK’s representative role post-DOTS. There’s a reason he has made two cameos playing as Vincenzo in the three years since the drama ended.

“Reborn Rich” is an odd case because it started off well and is one of the highest rated cable dramas ever so it was definitely a hit but it doesn’t have a great rep as a drama and is not really talked about post-airing or seen as a popular representative work despite the high ratings. It fumbled in the second half particularly with the dumb ending and that damaged the drama’s reputation and made a lot of people feel like watching it was a waste of time. There were undoubtedly excellent performances from Lee Sung Min and the supporting actors who played the family members. LSM and the supporting actors carried and received the most recognition for the drama.

  5. Maannnnn, he needs to pair with Park Bo-young. I’ve been wishing for a proper pairing since “A Werewolf Boy”. I need Joo-won to properly pair with her too since their horror film. Lol. Talented actors and actresses are flopping because they’re not finding projects with each other in them. I feel like Chun Woo-hee has definitely underperformed throughout the years. Then again, maybe it really is in the writing because this story sounds basic af. Lol. The plot is way too outdated and overdone.

  6. I dont feel like this is the type of drama I would enjoy watching. Also I dont think it will be a hit in terms of rating because it’s a melo but good for Joongki for playing something really different from before. I’m just not sure I’ll watch it.

  7. This is the first synopsis I have seen that gives a proper description of the story. The plot sounds fine but kind of plain. I’m not sure what the “hook” is but that may be the trademark of the writer as ‘Run On’ plot was also slice of life with not much happening but was still enjoyable thanks to the performances and particularly the direction and stunning cinematography.

  8. The synopsis sounds so not my cup of tea but I always check certain actors’ dramas regardless. SJK is one of those actors besides Lee Joon Gi, Nam Gong Ming, and Kim Soo Hyun etc.

SK writers appear particularly fond of childhood or first love. There have been SO MANY Kdramas written about this particular trope. Isn’t it boring?
