The Republic era period C-drama Ran Shuang Wei Zhou 燃霜为昼 has started filming and the first stills are out from the film set of leads Tian Jia Rui, Wang Yu Wen, and Li Wen Han in costume. NGL, these three look way better than I expected and kinda serving mood solo just wandering around the set. The drama is your usual Republic era warlord, assassin, spy, healer subject matter which despite how awful recently aired Snowfall was at least it tried to shake it up to add vampire to that mix lol. Tian Jia Rui actually impressed me in My Journey to You and the only reason folks are mid on him is because of Guo Jing Ming making him the next It Boy so openly.

Is the uniform supposed to be in that bright color?
It looks cheap like CXX Fall in love. I actually enjoyed it but it was low budget and very idol like. There was an actor just skin and bones trying to look tough and warlord F4 slow motion. The drama was funny with their out of place characterization.Tian Ji Rui super good in MJTY but i think GJM needs to ask Yu Zheng advice on picking it boys. If he wants him to be a serious actor i understand, but a liuliang actor needs visuals or great star power. Not convinced yet on TJR but i like to be proven wrong.
TJR actually looks great here. They just need to lay off that lipstick on him. I hate how they put so much lipstick on these guys & make them look so girly.
WYW also looks nice too.
Li wen han looks better than ML, just saying.
I was actually thinking TJR looks like a kid playing dress up. I think LWH looks better and more convincing in the clothes as well based on just the photos. I’m kind of allergic to GJM and this era, so doubt I’ll be giving this a try anyway.
Why does it feel like they have no confidence in the main male leads face? The makeup they put on him just feels odd. Like they are trying to disguise him or cover up something. It’s sticks out so much and very distracting.
And he’s the first billing???? He has a huge sponsor or what???? No one knows his name. Only saw him in a drama. And baaangg, he’s the first billing over WYW who has a lot dramas under her belt?
I wonder, is he having super rich parents or having a daddy long legs?
The color palette looks crappy! Flower kids with heavy makeup don’t help neither. LOL. Republic era dramas usually are jokes. Pass! No brainer.
