He posted about a top C-drama A-list actress who just accepted a new drama that Yu Zheng‘s own agency artist Wu Jin Yan passed on. Yu Zheng said the drama was shit which is why he had Wu Jin Yan pass, and the top actress who accepted it is only doing so for awards consideration. C-netizens are saying he’s shading Yang Zi and her accepting the period female empowerment drama Family Business, reportedly to costar Liu Yu Ning and Wei Da Xun and will start filming in October. Netizens think he’s shading Yang Zi because she’s the only A-list drama actress in recent weeks to accept a new drama casting. As much as I like Wu Jin Yan after The Double, it’s impossible for me to believe a drama she passed on then got to Yang Zi’s hands, Yang Zi is so big in C-ent she gets first dibs on projects alongside Crystal Liu, Zhao Li Ying, and Yang Mi.

I'm indifferent to both actresses, but I'm with Koala in that Yu Zheng was basically trolling on this particular claim. Wu Jinyan is still far from Yang Zi's power level. If there's any (miniscule) truth to Yumama's claim, I'd think the project was MAYBE also offered to several actors (incl Jinyan), but Yang Zi (or her team) liked it & snatched it.
Yu Zheng sounds salty to me for some reason, maybe instead of Wu Jinyan passing on the drama, it was her drama being snatched by Yang Zi? Yang Zi has rumours of snatching dramas from other actresses before, such as taking The Oath of Love from Chen Yuqi.

There is literal evidence that Chen Yuqi was the original actress for OOL because there are photos of her that leaked from official sources.
Then YZ took over but this is the production's decision. They chose one over the other. Now I can't stand Yang Zi and her horrible acting and I think she ruined OOL but the casting is not her fault. Production decided to switch. It's dumb to deny though that the switch happened because it's a well known fact. Still hardly her fault.

Now now, I may not like Yang Zi, but you're being oversensitive. Snatching dramas is pretty common. If you can snatch a drama, obviously it meansthe production team favors you over the other person.

She didn't snatch this drama so why accuse her of it, you can blame the director and producer for giving her the script if they already chose CYQ beforehand but why pass the blame to her side. Girly was on the other side of the world when she got the script, liked it and decided to act in it

Would be nice to see CYQ with XZ in Oath of Love, especially with her small face and frame. I have yet to watch CYQ and Dylan Wang in the workplace drama, was it good?
I guess it’s understandable IF the production team selected YZ instead of others based on their fan base. Afterall who doesn’t want more viewership?
As for CYQ acting, I know some companies but I think she is good in playing heroic and complex characters such as Ashes of Love and Heavenly Sword. I have not seen her in modern dramas so I can’t comment.
Anyway I like both YZ and CYQ as they both have next door girl auras.

Yes he has been hyping about the upcoming show. Frankly I like Joseph Zeng and Bai Lu is watchable. I just hope Yu Zheng delivers what he claims.
As for WJY and Yang Zi, I prefer the later as Yang Zi exceeded my expectations in Lost You Forever.
I seen WJY in the Royal Feast and The Double, and I find her take on the characters almost the same. The long suffering and tragic personas are so vivid that they kind of overwhelmed her other expressions.
So I doubt Yu Zheng’s allegations. Anyway he should blame himself, why didn’t he promote WJY all these years, causing her to miss out many roles?
Yu Zheng is probably bitter that he doenst have A list actors, they all will leave him in a few years, that's why he always needs a new batch. Hard to believe WJN got priority over YZ, and honestly a drama with idol actors may get a magnolia nomination but very hard to actually win. I dont see how she only accepted for awards. The 2 circles are in a power struggle and looks like the movies are ruled by beijing people and dramas by Shanghai. Not even Yang Zi's fan but no way Wu Jinyan is on the same level as her even after the success of The Double. Yu Zheng always has a habit to spin up stories or exaggerate things to make his and his artists look good. Its prob a lesser known actress he's talking about if the story is even true at all.

Yang Zi is like a stable ship... it is not the most high tech nor is it budget.... Her dramas are often watchable for locals, her rating are stable.
As a investor, she is worth investing.
As a viewer, I will always tune to take a peek of her dramas, will watch if my interest holds but will drop if story does not hold my interest. I am use to her acting style, it does not put me off. May not wow me as she has a style that is her own, and have not changed much from it.
She have her foot in this industry for years and years to come.
Many people might not like Yang Zi for whatever reason or her drama picks are questionable but its pretty evident she gets first dibs. She's very popular, no doubt. Yu Zhang bringing this incident to light might shoot him in the foot in the future when the drama becomes a success because we know YZ fans will show up and support.

I heard from some Xu Kai fan that he didnt want XK to act in Best Choice Ever but XK accepted it behind Yu Zheng’s back which made him angry. Not sure how true this is but if it is maybe he has some beef with Yang Zi?

This is a personal opinion, I like YZ but I think her last few dramas haven't been the best. Last one I sat through without FF would be GGS and Ashes of Love. She has great screen presence but no excitement to the acting. Like I always say about her, I know she can give me more to the character but she never pushes past my expectations of her. I use to really like her emotional scenes but now they are all the same to me.
@Neen, I too like Yang Zi for many years..but I have dropped her recent dramas...storyline did not interest me... Yang Zi acting style is familiar for me, I am at ease with her. So if storyline does not interest me, I will not stay on to watch for her sake.
Ashes of Love was one of those unique C costume that got me into C dramaland. I continued to watch Go Go Squid and Oath of Love. Yang Zi is adorable in GGS IMO but the ML turned me off. However, I was pretty disappointed at Yang Zi in OOL. She was obviously a lazy actress to perform very unprofessionally as a pro celloist in OOL. And her heavy makeup even just waking up from bed didn't help. Comparing her with K actress Park Eun Bin or even Go Ara as a pro musician would be a disaster. LOL but got to be honest. Good thing about OOL, this drama introduced me to my wonderful actor Xiao Zhan. LOL.
I don't think YZ isn't capable of better acting. She seems stuck in a bottleneck and needs breakthrough to another level. If plot is good, I'll give a shot to her drama. It just hasn't worked out that way for a while.
