So this may be one of those murky periods and it makes sense to try and do something right now before there is anything more definitive to come. Last week C-actress Song Zu Er had her year long tax scandal reportedly resolved with the government, she was found to have underpaid taxes to the tune of over $300K USD and will pay that back, but was not found to have intentionally evaded taxes. It’s kinda like half a win, I guess? She can still be cancelled but reportedly hasn’t been blacklisted by the government so the productions of her two high profile big budget finished C-drama The Prisoner of Beauty with Liu Yu Ning and The Demin Hunter’s Romance with Allen Ren are trying desperately to airdrop the drama before anything else changes with her status. However neither has gotten the definitive second permit approval despite massive lobbying and money spent and Song Zu Er’s side is staying out of it and waiting to see if the dramas air. If it does air she will benefit from it, if it doesn’t air she is likely to be done with C-ent with no production company’s willing to cast her. We’ll see in the next few months what happens.
