Ding Yu Xi’s January 2025 Edition of L’Officiel Hommes China Breaks Wang Yibo’s 5-year Record for Most Magazine Sales in China
When there is a record it’s just waiting to be broken, and this one took 5-years and the return of another buzzy hit drama. C-actor Ding Yu Xi got a huge career boost in November 2024 just two months ago with the success of Love Game in Eastern Fantasy (drama adaptation of Guide to Capturing a Black Lotus). He got praise for his emotional jinjiang acting and for once his character costuming and visuals also got a thumbs up. This month in January he got the cover and pictorial for fashion magazine L’Officiel Hommes in China and after one month of sales he’s broken the record held by Wang Yibo for highest sales RMB of a fashion magazine in China. Wang Yibo actually holds 5 of the top 10 spots and it’s all from 2020 during the heyday of the insanely successful run of The Untamed. But there is a caveat to Ding Yu Xi breaking this record, the price point of his magazine is higher so he’s sold more in terms of total revenue earned but not in terms of total magazines sold, that remains Wang Yibo in total number of issues sold. Sorry, but i really hope he won’t act with actors with toxic fandom. I think he & his fans especially have suffered enough with with esther’s fans. i know weibo is a toxic place, but in january alone he was slandered twice by her fans.
His fans did more of the slandering starting from DYX post of not liking eating fish with bones. Honestly there are no innocent fandoms. I say fandoms not artists, because sometimes fans are really just over the top whether actors or actress
Considering that fans and (actor) friends are bulk-buying these magazines rather than the sales figures being driven by a general interest from the wider public, all these figures and statistics are rather meaningless.
All that this shows is the financial power of their fandoms and their willingness to spend money on appearances.

Isn’t Xiao Zhan more popular than Wang Yibo? I was surprised to learn that it’s Wang Yibo who holds the highest records for fashion magazines sales.
Xiaozhan stop showing his magazine sales on public since 2020 to avoid fanwar/ discussion, so we never know how much his sales but since he got nine gold edition mags on september along dilireba his magazine sales must be really doing well.
Every star fandom has anti fans and black fans included in the number of followers and acting as an actors fan. No one can manage millions of people and how they think/act. So ultimately its going to become toxic. If you start picking/choosing your co-actors based on their fandoms, then you will only get to work with B/C level stars.
About the magazine sales, WYB was on edge in 2020. It looked as if he poured all his anger and angst to the camera. Man!the pics were Hottt! I would buy those magazines if I could lay my hand on them now. Post 2020, both XZ and WYB have started using limited edition magazines to avoid fan wars and competition. They dont even disclose the revenue now. Good for them
