Netflix Drama When Life Gives You Tangerines Releases Final Four Episodes as the Sadness of Winter Emerges Back to Spring in the Cycle of Life — 11 Comments

  1. So happy for this drama!!! A drama that touch many people is what truly matters as it has longevity.

AS idols, IU and Park Bo Gum have proven beyond words they are not just pretty faces with beautiful voices. Both have acting talents. I am so happy this drama can grab headlines beyond just bad Press elsewhere.

  2. I have been enjoying this drama so much. Each season has distinct attributes but still are well knitted together. This is how excellent writing, directing, and acting all ace together to make a memorable classic. Did the writer win the best screenplay at Baeksang for When the Camellia Bloom? WLGT has an even better script than WTCB IMO. The plot of WLGT is more coherent and deeper with interesting metaphors. My glasses would be dropped if WLGT isn’t nominated for best screenplay while WTCB won the award by the same writer.

Besides the scriptwriting, the directing is the most intriguing part of WLGT IMO. This PD has a very delicate taste for both fine art and classical literature. He masterfully wove the essence of the historical setting and the life stories of the family into an artisan quilt-like roadmap for story telling. I admire this directing so much that I think the PD definitely deserves a Baeksang award. His directing art is the highlight to make WLGT a great drama. Under his camera, slice of life far away from this era and where we live became colorful and very relatable to audience. I have great admiration for this PD, same for the PD of Flower of Evil, My Liberation Note, and Moving.

  3. I lost count of how many times I cried in this drama. Everything was so beautiful. Cinematography, story and acting. Truly a masterpiece worth all the Baeksang awards.

  4. This drama is what I call an emotion cleansing drama. It makes you feel so many things, joy, gratefulness, warmth, laughter, sadness over the realizing how transient life is, feeling love in small daily gestures. Gwansik isn’t an chaebol that can rent out an amusement park with fireworks, but the love he gave Aesun was much greater. The story and message it conveyed about love, life, and family was so poignant. Even seeing the clips again on social media feeds trigger my tears. This drama has really touched my heart in ways other dramas haven’t. That being said, I don’t think I could put my heart through another rewatch for a while.

  5. I haven’t seen a drama this close to perfection in a long time. Top tier script, directing, acting and casting! Even Kim
Seonho with his very little screen time evoked a lot of emotions from me, especially the wedding scene.

I’m already preparing to do a rewatch. Rooting for this drama to sweep all the awards shows!
