Recently Netflix has been getting flack for its self-produced shows and movies, namely that there hasn’t been as good a quality as previous years and the hits from this year come from licensed shows that stream on the platform. I wouldn’t signal the death knell on Netflix anytime soon but I’m selfishly wishing all its new movies and dramas are good since I’m paying a subscriber fee regardless. Next month Netflix has a new Korean movie coming out called Seoul Vibe, it’s headlining Yoo Ah In and set in the 1988 Seoul Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony day. He leads a team of street racing drivers hired to transport slush funds around the city and evade both authorities and other baddies. The full cast is quite impressive with Lee Kyu Hyung, Go Kyung Pyo, Oh Jung Se, Moon So Ri, Park Joo Hyun, and Ong Seung Woo. It’s basically the K-version of The Fast and the Furious with a period setting and K-flavor which likely blends into a fun summer popcorn flick.
