Scandal Plagued Kim Soo Hyun Sued by Two Brands that Terminated CF Contracts and Another Brand Also Considering Lawsuit — 36 Comments

  1. He should just admit it and apologize
Even if he use his money and won the lawsuit,
His money will never be able to erase the disgust
    in people heart
And in the end evil will have to pay here of afterlife

      • Has he been accused of a crime? Innocent until proven guilty is a criminal law concept and one that applies to litigation. Even then the Court can rule that someone is not guilty due to technicalities even if all available evidence shows he is guilty. You are naïve to think that innocent until proven otherwise applies to the real world and that all people can be held to stick to that concept.

      • @ja hoo hyun No, YOU go EFF YOURSELF, you pe*do apologist pick me lmao. So pathetic 😂
Your gross oppa will continue to face the consequences of his actions no matter how much you pathetic pick-mes cry about it lmaooo

      • @Dinesh
I disagree with both of you.
KSH is really a questionable person by providen information, but your point of mind is also a dangerous.
I know some real cases in real world, when even police was confident they arrested a criminal, only turns out many years later by some ridiculous evidence they were wrong. For example I wrote here about one crime happened in my country: man raped two women, women described his look to police, police found him, women recognised him by his face, man was arrested and sentenced. And 10 years later turns out he wasn’t a criminal but a doppelganger of a real r*pist, they weren’t related by blood, yet their faces looked identical. Because such ridiculous thing happened, a life of innocent person could be destroyed for 10 years.
“Even the court can rule that someone isn’t guilty due to technicalities even if all available evidence shows he’s guilty” – and such thing happened as well. One man was suspended by police for very-very terrible crime, detectives were confident it was him, forensic scientist was confident it was him, yet he wasn’t arrested because of some technical issue. But residents of the city knew about him, and everyone knew when he lives. The thing is, DNA test wasn’t used at this time, and only many years later when police started to use DNA test they found a real criminal, which wasn’t him. So your “all available evidence shows he’s guilty” also not working sometimes.
I’m not saying people should ignore any shady people and their shady actions. But you should to understand how huge responsibility you taking by accusing someone to something.
“Innocent until proven guilty” not just a criminal law concept, but the thing which helps not to turn world into a witch hunt.

  2. I am more interested to find out if Disney will sue him. The $8million must just be starter…a whole 2 season productions will cost more then that. Lets wait and see.

    • Disney doesn’t sue usually. They just withhold final payment. If he gets sued, it will be by ArcMedia who is the production company. They will wear the brunt of the costs and outlay thus far. The fact that they have pretty much abandoned filming for the final episodes of S2 pretty much sounds a death knell to Knock Off. They won’t get an opportunity where everyone is free at the same time to continue filming in the future. Everyone would’ve moved on to other projects. I am not even sure we will hear about it because KSH’s PR machine is running overtime to cover up any bad news. Same with this company A and B who have sued (and potentially company C). GM’s official statement is that they haven’t heard about it. You can guarantee that in the background they would’ve reached out to them now and anyone else to try to settle out of court to keep it out of the public eye. He’s trying to salvage whatever image he has left.

      • Makes very good sense. Thanks for details. I have noticed he is trying ways to keep out of news. He has money to settle out of court and public.

  3. Looks like it’s tumbling down for him bit by bit. Man when scandals hit they hit hard in Korea. I don’t blame them though because it is just too risky to bet on him completely. He is not the first celebrity to face such consequences. Probably won’t be the last. That is just how the cookie crumbles and in today’s age secrets are hard to hide with social media and netizens with a magnifying glass to everything now than back in the day. And old Pr tricks are just not working anymore.

  4. I read something that it comes down to contract fine print – some endorsement penalties are not valid for “social” negative news – only for “criminal” eg. trial and found guilty. Apparently another previous A-lister was threatened with penalties but in the end didn’t pay a penny as it was “social” and not “criminal”.

    • Interesting… as Kim Soo Hyun have not legally done anything wrong. He did not commit a crime thus he did not break some contracts.

  5. They were banking on his image selling their products. His job was to maintain that image. Ergo they have the right to sue since he didn’t do his job.

    • That’s why he’s suing her retarded family and that idiot YouTube channel for defamation….the companies broke the contract…not him…I hope those companies go belly up for that too

      • What’s the connection with him suing her family and the companies dropping him? Companies are not dumb. He’s not their first endorser definitely won’t be the last. If his attorneys were formerly of Kim & Chang, you can bet those companies’ lawyers are from Kim & Chang or Woori. That it took them this long to file their lawsuit for damages says of how they combed through that contract to make sure that when they come to court, they got their arguments organized.

      • @Kiddogo, I agree with every point you made. I think the connection between the two is his fans think he has to sue KSR’s family in order to recover some money to pay for damages from advertisements. In their books, their oppa has already won (although trial has not started) because the court has sided with him for issuing a court order against Garo and there are news saying there is a whistleblower reporting her family’s lawyer as shady. His fans think everything is on their oppa’s favor at this point.

  6. I will cancel my Disney+ account if they continue to accuse him after everything has been proven in KSH favor…. KSH has been smeared by the YouTube channel for views and money…and KSR own family…. maybe because she can’t give them money anymore…her family has to seek new bank… unfortunately they are trying to use KSH…I hope everyone against Kim Soo Hyun loses everything and goes bankrupt…they would deserve it….

    • All his fans keeps harping on the fact that it’s about money. But the reality is, it can’t be? GSI’s YouTube channel is demonetized – he earns nothing from views. LJH’s channel on the other hand is monetized so he gets paid for views. KSR’s family doing what they did? They risk losing everything? If it had been about money, they would’ve picked up the calls GM made (which they did in the beginning) or capitulated when KSH said he would sue at the Press Conference. He delayed filing the lawsuit because he wanted them to come to the negotiating table and settle out of court. I don’t believe for a moment that they “couldn’t get the aunt’s details” hence they needed to ask for an extension. That would be incompetent of the lawyers. They were just throwing out a warning in hope that they wouldn’t have to file it. That KSR’s family would get scared and capitulate and settle out of court. But they didn’t? Had it been about money, then they would’ve settled. KSH would’ve paid them handsomely for getting out of his hair. They chose to make a stand and risk losing everything they have. So it can’t be about money. Their actions do not support your argument.

      • I highly doubt it is about money. GM have been wanting to throw money at them since the beginning so it does not blow out. But they did not contact them. GM tried so many ways to get in touch with them and even said so in the media.
Money, what money, from who???? They risk being sued, they risk getting their family talked about and even abused, all for the justice they want Kim Sae Ron to get. Who is paying them? I really want to know. The unknown and unpopular Youtuber? Dont make me laugh, they only went to the Channel because no mainstream media dared to take on their case.
Are they good parents, that is not for me to judge. I too believe they made many mistakes in their upbringing of their lost beloved daughter. But they are at least doing something right by their daughter.

      • @pilgrim and @HL, did you see the articles about how his fans are called out for smearing KSR and how they are sending death threats to Korean reporters because some reporters wrote about the KSH prevention act? On X, some of his fans even tried to hack into KSR’s IG account. If his fans call people who are not in favor of their oppa as cyber bullies, then what does this make them ?

      • @rollingstone, I read. Some of those fans are just scary. Hacking into Kim Sae Ron’s IG..goodness, I bet they tried hacking into her emails too.

I dont normally reply to his fans… but I do find those that say Kim Sae Ron parents are doing this for money laughable. I bet GM really wish they want money. At least, none of these will blow up. And Kim Soo Hyun will still be standing tall on his top idol podium.

    • @Piligrim
I’m not against your comment, and I’m not defending KSH, but please, don’t stood up for Garo Sero channel.
This is very shady channel with bad reputation. Even KSR parents said they went to them because they didn’t have other choice, not because this is such good channel and journalists.
      You can google about them.
It seems you didn’t watch their videos, they asking for donations at the end of every video, and they used KSR case to spread their political agenda. They didn’t even hide it.
I’m not saying they lying about KSR case, but knowing what they spread about other female celebrities, and what kind of things they did by using KSR’s case, they revealed that information not because they care about her, but for their personal benefit.
Again, I’m not defending KSH and I’m not saying they’re lying, I just can’t stand to see when people talking about this channel in a way of “they did it just simple because they’re good people”.

      • @Oleysa1, if we are talking about Garo’s channel is shady, Lee Jin Ho’s channel is shady as well. He is still talking about KSR and it is obvious who benefits the most from the clips he released about KSR. At this point, if he is not helping out KSH, what benefits does he get for talking about KSR?

Garo is shady but if you have watched the family press con, they said they reached out to 100 media and none was willing to help them so they turn to Garo. I am not saying he is a good guy but just saying KSR’s parents have no one to resort to so they took that route to go to him. KSR’s parents knows what they are getting into when they decide to let Garo talk about KSR. So, it may not even be a surprise to them if he asked viewers for donations at the end. There is no free lunch for doing something.

      • There is also a pattern I noticed. When the media reports something bad about KSH, Lee Jin Ho comes out the next 2 days revealing something new about KSR. Last time, when KSH was reported for possible tax evasion and stock manipulation, we started to hear about KSR dating Woodz. When he got sued by advertisers a few days ago, Lee Jin Ho came out again and released something new about KSR.

Not asking you to agree with me on anything but just sharing my thoughts.

      • I am not defending red bandanna man. He’s allowed to ask for donations? Anyone can who does video content? He needs to make a living somehow? Choice is still with the viewer? Unlike LJH who gets paid for viewing the content. And he gets donations on top of that too. GSI has always sounded a bit unhinged to me but it is this very thing that gave him the courage to speak where other media outlets opted for silence. So for that moral courage to help KSR’s family I applaud him. Only someone crazy enough to get sued and have his reputation dragged in mud would do what he did. When you take the fight to someone with immense power and influence, you often have to resort to fighting dirty.

      • @sunflower
Yes, I’m agree, Lee Jin Ho’s channel is shady as well. I didn’t stood up for him by talking about Garo Sero, I despise both of them

        @Piligrim
From that point of view maybe you have a point

    • You seems to sound even worse than my small children throwing a thantum over stupidity…girl you don’t know this man…and by now we should all be very cautious whom we vow for esp…when it comes to their real personality or moral issues..as how many times did said Korean celebrity men let fans and brands down already??

Yes and even if KSR did sate a minor…according to the law then the act wasn’t illegal…but morally wise he works be held accountable hence he dare not admit if its the truth..as that means career suicide..

Why the public thinks he’s guilty..well you can thank him and his agency GM for their lies from day one..plus questionable acts depicting him being to close to minor KSR as a grown man then…contrary to what he says otherwise…as what he’s saying and evidence showing don’t really add up..and it points clearly like he’s lying to cover his ass…so forgive the public to gave their suspicions..Seems you forget why Korean men are looked down upon for how they treat women.

  7. @rollingstone it makes them desperate. Their whole life revolves around him. They worship him. What you’ve described is their frantic attempts to resurrect him so that they can return to status quo. It’s pathological. But they won’t see it that way. So they will attempt to “make” news to keep the momentum going and pretend that all is well and that he will be vindicated. Clinging onto the hope that the tide will magically turn somehow and he will return to their screens once more. His lack of remorse is the most glaring error for me. The silent majority in Korea see it so I can’t see him coming back any time soon.

    • @Pilgrim and @HL,

They are like thugs. They even compiled the names of the female journalists and probably plan to mass email and attack them. Last few nights, I saw viusg IG had 4 workers giving reactions to actors they see on-screen and most of them gave a good reaction. KSH’s face was the last to appear and the workers closed their laptops and turned their heads. It was something comical if you watch the clip but his fans felt offended and are now mass emailing viusg. This cult does not allow any one who says one bad thing about their oppa. This is just so extreme and toxic.

Yes, I agree. They are working overnight to return him to his status quo. On X and IG, his shippers are using Kim Jiwon to make it looked they are associated with each other. They even created a lot of hashtags “All eyes on” Jiwon the other night with him tagged along because that was his fan meeting theme last year. Their attempts are so desperate.

    • @Pilgrim and @HL,

His fans are already celebrating and making tons of cringey hashtags on X saying he already won because the court has issued an order on Hover Lab not to talk about him anymore. And, didn’t we hear Lee Jin Ho got that order too and he still talked? His fans said that article is fake and Lee Jin Ho didnt get the court order. Lol.

      • LJH got that 3 month injunction all right. He just refused to comply. And is therefore in contempt court even before the trial starts. Which is not a good thing to be – to get on the judge’s bad side even before the case is heard. GM on the other hand, delayed filing the lawsuit (blaming an inability to find the aunt’s details which is hogwash) and they only got the injunction against GSI on the 24April. Thing is though, GSI stopped putting out anything pretty much soon after the Press Conference 31Mar. And his exposé on Gold&S and the whole Siwon school/GM debacle came on the back of a KBS report. He just filled in details. He’s pretty much back to his normal political reporting with an aside of entertainment news. He did mention something about releasing new stuff after the election. So I am wondering how he will couch it so it doesn’t sound like a direct attack on KSH. At this point I can’t see KSH finding a way back to the industry. He has shown no remorse whatsoever. He dug his own grave. I am waiting to see if ArcMedia decides to sue him too. Now that the ad companies are starting to sue one by one, it may encourage them to do the same.

    • @pilgrim, he came in first place in some ranking and his fans think Koreans still like him and he will be back soon. But, the votes can be done multiple times and with many bots overseas. Not sure how reliable that is.

If Koreans are on his side, the petition his fans made will have made it to 50k. On the other hand, his prevention act has reached 50k in less than a month

    • @Pilgrim, did you see the allkpop article about his Knock off promotional image posted on imdb? I guess that means Disney + will be releasing the drama then if they uploaded an official pic. It is a matter of time when he will resume filming.

@Janice, your wish has come true that Disney will move forward with this and you dont need to unsubscribe lol.

      • It’s fake, a “knock off” (pun intended). There’s no Disney Plus logo on it. And Disney hasn’t changed their official stance – it’s indefinitely postponed. I ran the pic through an AI image check and it came out with 91% likelihood that it is AI generated.
