C-actor Zhai Xiao Wen in Talks for Male Lead Opposite Yu Shu Xin in the Period C-drama A Journey to Glow
So the xianxia period C-drama Love in Pavilion aired last month rather uneventfully, mild buzz and better reviews that it’s predecessor in the Fox Spirit Matchmaker series Red Moon Pact. I did hear more interest in the couples outside of the main leads including second leads Wu Xuan Yi and Zhai Xiao Wen. The latter of which is now on the cusp of leveling up to male lead status as he’s in talks for the male lead of iQiyi period C-drama A Journey to Glow (一念江南 Yi Nian Jiang Nan) which has signed Yu Shu Xin as the female lead. If the title harkens to another drama then yes, it is indeed from the same production team as A Journey to Love (一念关山 Yi Nian Guan Shan) but isn’t being billed as a narrative sequel merely from the same fictional universe I believe. I’ll keep an eye out for the final casting since this project does interest me and so far I’m good with both leads if confirmed.
He was the male lead in the excellent Always Home.
Delivered an equally excellent portrayal of his character; pure, raw emotions. Such a good actor! Was so impressed!
Just saw that it’s now actually Wang Anyu as the ML. Was kinda looking forward to ZXW tho since it’s about time he gets up to the ML roster as well. Nothing is final in C-dramaland until maybe the booting ceremony?
