Period Romance C-drama Wrong Era Now in Talks with Chang Hua Sen as Male Lead to Join Zhang Miao Yi
So it looks like the WIFTY reunion will not be happening. Recently it was discussed that Tencent was going to reunite the When I Fly Towards You cuties Zhang Miao Yi and Zhou Yi Ran for its upcoming period romance C-drama Wrong Era. That melon sounded like basically a lock since Zhou Yi Ran is Tencent’s prince and this is a top shelf production. Alas never count your chickens before it hatches because this week the industry casting rumor is that the male lead is now Chang Hua Sen, with the female lead remaining Zhang Miao Yi who was signed on first before all the male lead discussions. I sorta put both Zhou Yi Ran and Chang Hua Sen in the exact level – handsome, tall, has potential young actors being heavily promoted by various platforms so this is basically an equal switch.
I like Zhang Miao Yi, she is adorable and a natural actress, at least in the modern shows I have watched with her… Looking forward to this.
I love Zaizai and Rangrang, but I feel like that same chemistry probably can’t be recreated.
Also, I feel like CHS is everywhere. That guy is so lucky that he always has someone pushing for him. Even in Youth With You 3, he has absolutely zero talent in dancing, singing or rapping, but somehow got a ton of screen time and made it to final 20.
Neither of them have traffic, I wonder how’s Tencent going to convince investors.
