The Prada Curse for Asian Stars Continues as J-actor Sakaguchi Kentaro Gets into Cheating Scandal with Actress Nagano Mei
At this point if you’re an Asian actor and Italian couture house Prada comes calling with a brand ambassador offer bolt the other way as fast as you can. There is a scandal in J-ent this week and the male lead in the center of it is popular star Sakaguchi Kentaro, who happens to be Prada’s Japan brand ambassador. Him getting into a negative publicity scandal comes after former Prada brand ambassadors Kim Soo Hyun was cancelled for alleged underage dating, Li Yi Feng was cancelled for soliciting prostitution, Kai Ko cancelled for his arrest for pot use, and Zheng Shuang cancelled for tax evasion and paying for IVF and abandoning her children afterwards. I don’t think Kentaro will be cancelled as his is just your run of the mill cheating scandal. It first arose that he was dating a makeup artist three years older than him, so a mild scandal in J-ent with just news that he was dating. Then came the news that he cheated on said girlfriend with actress Nagano Mei, which increased the tabloid nature of the scandal, including that his girlfriend went to confront Mei and ask her to stay away from Kentaro. And lasting came news that Nagano Mei herself was cheating on actor Tanaka Kei when she was the third wheel to Kentaro. This is a still developing story and J-ent is fully riveted lol, though it all seems very shrug-worthy that famous good looking people working together cheat and date around.
The cheating cyrcle in this case is so wild.. sigh.
Saw on twitter that the ‘girlfriend’ also involved in his previous relationship with Mitsuki Takahata. But Mitsuki chose to walk away and now happily married.
Mitsuki used to be with Kentaro for 3-4 years, right? But honestly, her husband is on a whole different level. He’s got that clean image in Japan, and as an actor his name is way more solid than Kentaro’s, who people only see as kinda so-so anyway. Plus, he’s never had any big scandals. So honestly, it’s such a win for her… imagine if she had stuck with Kentaro, she’d be dragged into all his mess.
This is the best kind of drama. Everyone involved is a bad person. Even the people being cheated on were also cheaters so it’s all just so funny.

Nagano Mei was also working with Prada before her scandal with Tanaka Kei.
Hope her career will bounce back.
Such a shame. I don’t think it affects the brand image of Prada though. Its a strong enough brand that its loyal customers (myself included) will keep buying their products.
