Choi Woo Shik and Jung So Min Embark on a Contract Marriage for a House in Old School Genre with Modern Execution K-drama Would You Marry Me
So I’m getting such major deja vu with the promos for upcoming SBS rom-com Will You Marry Me. I love leads Choi Woo Shik and Jung So Min and the premise, and the promos look so good but so did Love Next Door and that drama bamboozled me so hard with how much I loved those leads and wanted to love the drama as well. But I’m made of more resilient stuff so I will once again dive into the fray and get excited for this one rather than tempering expectations. The drama premise is that Jung So Min is cheated on by her boyfriend and then wins a lottery for a new condo just for newlyweds. She ends up asking Choi Woo Shik to fake marry her for the condo since he has the same name as cheating ex. Of course complications and love follows. The first teaser shows all the usual beats and the posters are wonderfully cute and romantic. Nothing guarantees ratings these days but all I need is an entertaining and addicting K-drama to bring back the feels.
Teaser for Would You Marry Me:

I always anticipate and watch any Jung So Min drama. I think this would be a better romcom than LND though. Like this is the fluff romcom Hae In wanted. Maybe he could get it with Hayoung. Though I hope him and So Min would pair up in another drama.
With that out of the way, So Min is aging gracefully and being styled up better this last few years. Like she’s getting more and more beautiful.
I actually think JHI fits better in serious and dark genres. He did a fantastic job in one of the greatest drama, D.P. However, I somehow were not able to finish any of his romcoms or melos.
Excited for this! The top poster and the positioning of JSM’s hands and fingers reminds me of how she had artfully placed them in Playful Kiss. When I take pics, my hands look like floppy fish or alien claws.
I hope this would be really good. I always have a soft spot for JSM since Playful Kiss as she’s very charming. Her last romcom was a bit of a disappointment so hopefully this one would be better. And I agree, she’s aging beautifully.
I like both leads…looking forward to this.
I’m so ready for this one. After exciting binge on legal and action thrillers for the whole year, my mood swings to favor lighter genres now. Man I need a break! LOL. Bon Appétit, Your Majesty has given me so much fun in and outside the drama with C snowflakes bitching about how the Kdrama has been insulting Chinese culture LOL. I know nothing about the ML. But I liked JSM a lot who was the soul in Alchemy of Souls, yet to watch her in romcom.
Already 5 months without watching a kdrama, so i hope this one will help me to rekinkle with my passion . I like both leads and especially JSM . Also waiting for Yumi’s cells 3 !
Kdrama has been a dud this year. I’ve been watching old dramas most of the time.
I like both leads equally… I know how you feel.
I feel you. Haven’t completed a series in over a year.
I really enjoy watching JSM. I do feel sad that she is kinda stuck in the same kind of romcom roles. But I am looking forward to this nonetheless.
Yep. She never changed genres so Im actually bored now. Too many romcoms, similar settings with just another male costar. Same with Choi Woo sik. I dun think this will do well in all honesty. Shampoo rinse repeat with similar faces gets old. He should go back to quirky roles and she should attempt a police or legal drama.
@Jenna, this is JSM’s 3rd or 4th rom-com around housing situation. At least switch up the premise.
