New Stills of Male Leads Joo Ji Hoon and Lee Jong Seok in K-drama Remarried Empress Presents Different Charms
The K-drama Remarried Empress adapted from the same name webtoon is female lead centric for sure but the more interesting characters are actually the male leads. Our Empress Navier is just perfect, beautiful and wise and caring, and her only drawback is that she is bad at communicating her feelings lol. We root for her because what happened to her is just so wrong and awful. But male leads Emperor Sovieshu and Prince Heinrey are interesting because the former goes from childhood sweetheart to total asshole and one wonders how that happened and the latter is the fun and flirty playboy with way more depth and plotting than meets the eye. The new stills out show Joo Ji Hoon brooding as Sovieshu in that deep V-neck hhhhmmm kinda sleazy way and I love it, while Lee Jong Seok looks like he stepped straight out of a Disney prince storybook ready to greet his fairytale princess and squee I love it too!
Whoa Nelly. I like both actors a lot but it is going to hard to root against the Emperor of Cleavage!

LOL. JJH is looking so fine!
OK. Joo Jihoon grew up to be super smoldering. Lol. I had just graduated high school when “Goong” premiered, and didn’t think much of him—I liked the baby faced second instead—but as he and I have aged, I like this look. Lol. It’s the hair, perchance. Haha. Sigh, I actually really love Lee Jongseok’s acting style though, so I’m finding my interest piqued to see how everything will unfold for the two of them. What a star studded cast.
I also didn’t think much of Joo Ji-hoon when he was in Goong. While Yoon Eun-hye impressed me with improving as the series aired, I felt like JJH gave me nothing. I found the 2ML’s acting better and was better-looking, though his character felt boring. Now I’m wowed by JJH and how he’s grown to be such a wonderful actor. And his looks certainly aged like fine wine.
I like LJS’s acting style too, though I wonder how it would fit into the character he’s playing here. And I’m glad he looks better and less mannequin-like in this still. But that blue rose looks almost photoshopped.

And don’t get me wrong I like LJS but so far the stills do not convince me that he is a good choice for Heinrey. BUT I’m ready to be convinced otherwise by future stills and teasers.
Always preferred Joo Ji Hoon’s looks over baby-faced actors any day… Glad he is aging like fine wine… Hope he continues picking good projects!
