Tan Jian Ci and Lu Yu Xiao Cast in Period Romance C-drama He Bu Tong Zhou Du Which Moves From a Tencent Production Over to Mango TV
There is genuine movement now on a C-drama that has been either trying to cast or get off the ground to shoot for close to three years. Nothing wrong with it, some projects just get batted around looking for the right leads, investment, and shooting schedule. The period romance C-drama He Bu Tong Zhou Du (Why No Cross By Boat 何不同舟渡) is reportedly close to commencing filming with near confirmed leads Tan Jian Ci and Lu Yu Xiao. This drama was a Tencent production this whole time but now is reportedly moving over to Mango TV which has picked up the rights. It’s one of those enemies to lovers and cat-and-mouse dynamic between the leads and I enjoy a fresh pairing so bring this on!

Oh…. would love to see them in an actually good story
The novel is very enjoyable and if the male lead will be confirmed, it could be a good drama
I would very much like to see Tan Jian Ci in a good costume drama, but I’m not sure this it, especially if it going to Mango. That said, I do like Lu Yu Xiao, and the working English title is now Dancing With the Tide, which automatically makes it better than Blossom This, or Legend of That, or Love’s Fill In the Blank.
I like Tan Jian Ci in modern dramas… As for period drama, I have not watched one completed drama.
Will keep an eye on this drama.
You didn’t see Lost You Forever? He’s only led one costume drama, Go East, which I liked but not everyone did. But he was fantastic in supporting roles in Winter Begonia, and both parts of Advisor’s Alliance. Court Lady was dreadful, but he was very good in it.
I enjoy a number of YangZi’s dramas…but never finish this drama. I did not warm to 2 of the lead actors thus dropped it.
I have seen him in support roles like Winter Begonia and Advisor Alliance.
I enjoy watching Tan Jianci in his modern lead roles, his acting touch me.
Too bad, as LYF was a great drama, IMO. But different tastes, and such.
I think if I can get my head round the 2 actors I dont warm to, I might enjoy it too. Since I do support a number of Yang Zi’s dramas
Both leads are pedestrian. TJC turned me off in Lost You Forever. I have since not been able to warm up to him. I don’t dislike LYX. She did a good job in Blossom in Adversity. But her lead roles so far haven’t impressed me yet. In particular, I’m not a fan of her mannerism in costume dramas. As some C actors need tutors for their diction in costume dramas, this actress needs coaching in her posture and how she walks in antient time.
Love Lu Yu Xiao in LITC. She is perfect or imperfect as she is and hope she stays the same.
Had enough actresses getting the glow up package (gamin faces, square shoulders, stick thin arms/legs). They are starting to look the same.
I have watched a few dramas of her like 4-5 dramas. I really like her as an actress.
As for TJC, I only watched him in 2 dramas only. One is LYF and the other one was with Zhou Ye (I forgot the title name). So far, this acting is just so-so to me.
Her latest drama Love in the clouds, so far is her best lead role so far. She needs much more improvement but I think her playing innocent and docile characters might be getting old? Whenever she leads it does not stick well as much as when she is supporting but Love in the Clouds seemed to have showed she has the potential. Hope it goes well for her. The male lead for me as well looks more compatible for modern too. Guess we wait and see if it can work. He is fairly handsome but more a good actor so I know he will do well.
