Netflix Releases this Friday All 12-Episodes of Romance K-drama Can This Love be Translated with Kim Sun Ho and Go Yoon Jung
I know what I’m doing this weekend, lol! Binging all 12-episodes of Netflix K-drama Can This Love be Translated, bringing two leads I like like Kim Sun Ho and Go Yoon Jung with a script by the hit or miss but always worth checking out Hong Sisters. The streaming platform released its first big K-drama of the year this Friday January 16th and the very early feedback appears positive. The drama tells of a romance between a top star actress and a polyglot translator as they travel the world when she films a variety show. She’s warm and doesn’t have a problem with boundaries while he’s reserved and not as quick to jump into anything like she does. Romances rise and fall on the chemistry of the two leads and how their characters are written to do the push-and-pull routine until the slots fit so I’m hoping this one checks all the boxes because I am so in the mood for a classic mood romance.

My expectation was too high is guess. I can just say it is an okay drama. Okay but not a drama that I want to rewatch. The good thing about this drama is the cinematography.
The story is a tad too bland. But the visuals and touristy scenes are great. Female lead is cute.
Wish the release followed the traditional 2 episodes a week. I know I can just do a better job of restricting myself to just 2 episodes a week, but I like the weekly anticipation and that’s pretty much how I had watched most of the Hong sisters dramas over the last 2 decades.
Good, just in right time. I had nothing to watch in between several Kdramas I’m following. The synopsis sounds generic. But it’s Hong Sisters’. I’ll check it out to fill the void while waiting for other Kdramas to update with new eps..
I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. Finally I found korean drama that I want to rewatch again and again.
I am three episodes in and so far I really like it. Looking forward to binge the rest of the series.
This is so disappointing. Especially with the mental health twist that such garbage.
It doesn’t help that the FL still doesn’t do anything for me, she just can’t act, so I dropped it. A shame.
The show plodders along for me, but I finally get the hype over Kim Seon Ho now.
Update – I AM IN LOVE with this show. Ep 1 was the slowest, and then it took off after that. This is definitely going in my favorite k-dramas list. KSH and GYJ have a new fan in me.
No chemistry between ML and FL. They give off big brother and little sister vibe. That Japanese makeup of no eyebrows, and talc-like white powder on her face is so distracting. On the bright side, the cinematography and locations they filmed are just breathtakingly beautiful.
Agree, the romance is just muddling along, not really rooting for their relationship
I liked the first half, I didn’t like as much the second half with the FL’s trauma. I wished they focused on the travelling and languages.
Love heals all trope?
I’m on episode 3 and I’m liking it so far. Chemistry isn’t explosive, but it’s there. I’ve only liked one drama that each of the leads were in previously, so let’s see if this is drama number 2 that I will like them in.
Go Yoon Jung had much better chemistry with her costar from Resident Playlist. Kim Sun Ho is so bland.
I binged 4 eps in one night and has enjoyed the story a lot so far. The filming doesn’t look cheap and cheesy in the same formula many romance dramas were mass produced. This Netflix series has all the appealing elements pertaining to a classical romantic film, although presented on small screen through streaming. Beautiful leading lady and man that blessed my eyes LOL! Both leads were doing nice jobs in the first 4 eps so far. Great camera work and editing specifically! Picturesque settings are cherry on top. I usually did not have patience for rom com or melo. But this one seems on the way to be one exception, to my surprise.
I expected to watch a rom-com or a melo but did not expect the plot turned into a thriller midway? lol. I was totally shocked by the ending of ep 7.
Enjoying it, so far. The location in the first episode got me googling. Not sure I’ll visit that particular place, not the easiest to get to on a short trip from Rome, but discovered impressive towns in the vicinity that I was unaware of. Will likely look up others in the show, as and when they appear.
To all the idiots who once accused and gossiped about a very talented, innocent actor whom they now praise (including the blogger behind this page): “Enjoy the drama, you awful people.” I’m sure you’ll find a similar situation within the story itself.
And thanks to the Seonhadas who never gave up and believed above all else in the presumption of innocence.
