Meng Zi Yi and He Yu Bring the Romantic Tension in Posters and Stills for Period C-drama Blossoms of Power
All the recent talk that Meng Zi Yi is likely miscast as the female lead of the drama adaptation of Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage doesn’t mean she’s a bad actress or that roles don’t suit that. I also think she’s not right at all for Shen Miao in that story but her next drama slated to air is period romance Blossoms of Power (百花杀 Bao Hua Sha or Hundred Flower Kill) where I think she looks great and seems right for the role. Her male lead is He Yu and the two are really nicely matched visually from the posters and stills, not to mention both have very attractive hair and costume styling in this drama. The first preview is also nicely done, the flair and throbbing chemistry comes through the screen.

Is He Yu going to be the next great romantic lead? He certainly gives some sizzling looks in the short!
Too concerned with being pretty, never convinced with her performances.
I wished I didn’t find her face incredibly plastic-looking. She’s been casted as a female lead in a few dramas I would watch if it weren’t for her.
To me it seems like she’s wearing a permanent filter on her face and it’s quite distracting when all the actors around her look like realistic people.
Yeah, I’m not a fan either.
They look great together! The title does sound a bit limp for a trailer that seems taut with tension
