This drama Boyfriend on Demand looks so silly but could be fun if done in a tongue-and-cheek way. But I fear female lead Jisoo, doing the heavy lifting from her role, will get slammed yet again for her acting and diction. It’s like she keeps trying to be an actress and K-netizens keep refusing to accept her lol. This drama stars Jisoo as a young man finding a lack of romance in real life that tries out a VR world where she can pick any boyfriend and tries out a veritable male harem’s worth of different looks and identities. The drama’s male lead is Seo In Guk as the real world colleague of hers but in the VR world the on demand boyfriends are playing by many male lead level actors in guest starring roles including Seo Kang Joon, Lee Soo Hyuk, Lee Hyun Wook, Lee Jae Wook, Kim Sung Cheol, Ong Seong Woo, and Kim Young Dae.

But this drama seems light hearted so maybe her limited acting range can ride it out. My take is those whose acting is not the best fair well with comedy to some extent than more serious roles that require more effort to emote. I have never liked Jisoo. Her biggest claim to fame was her looks but I need an in depth explanation on why she was highly regarded because I never saw it. Out of all third gen idols, she was the “best looking”. Sounds like deranged blink propaganda. She just looks average. Painfully average. Average eyes that always look a dull & tired. Average nose. Average small lips. Average face shape. Average body shape. Average height. Average weight…she’s considered the Korean visual but bone structure aside, is consistently the heaviest out of all members.
