Princess Agent’s Sequel C-drama Rebirth with Li Yun Rui and Huangyang Tian Tian Releases New Trailer and Tentatively Rumored to Premiere Next Month April 2026 — 9 Comments

  1. I really liked Dou Xiao’s Yan Xun. Princess Agent’s was the first C-drama where I experienced the so-called SML syndrome. LOL. Although I don’t remember the plot as being particularly memorable, since I felt the quality dropped in the second half, I’m curious about this sequel.

    • I was equally impressed by Shawn Dou. He stole the thunder from the bland ML. PA wasn’t that interesting to me partially thanks to the ML. I also skipped a lot of scenes. I’ll check out the sequel without much expectation. Li Yunrui has the best warrior aura in armor and on horse IMO. lol

  2. It ended when they fell through the ice from what I remember but that ending was such a vague ending makes me curious how they will start the drama and if it will make sense. Or maybe they will put their own flash backs or just do their own thing.

    • I want to see if he can carry the acting momentum from Blossom. If not, let’s just consider him a momentary stroke of luck. I don’t buy that idle talk about actors performing poorly because the show is bad/boring/rushed. Their job is to act, plain and simple. I’ve come across talented Chinese actors in the worst possible dramas. See? It reminds me of those K-pop idols who train for years and then, once they’re on stage, can’t even hold a note and their crazy fans come out with all that sappy stuff about how they’re still learning lol. I’m like, “So what were they training for?”. It’s so silly. I see that people come up with all sorts of excuses for Chinese actors as well.

      • It is difficult to find constructive or neutral opinions on these drama forums. Either they like an artist or they hate him. Either you’re team glazing or you’re team naysayer. There is no middle ground. There are actors who have strong, regular and weak performances. And it shouldn’t be a dilemma to mention it. Even actors I like have gone through this.

  3. Zhang Kang Le is tolerable in support roles but as one of the main leads in Adventure behind the Bronze Door, The Way Home, See You Tomorrow and The Dauntless Youths, he was wooden.

  4. There were some actors impressing me in the first series: Zhao Liying as Chu Qiao, Shawn Dou as Yan Xun, and Deng Lun as Xiao Ce. From the trailer of the sequel alone, I couldn’t see the same charisma from the FL HYTT and the 2nd ML ZKL as the actors of the same roles in the first series. The trailer might be too short for us to judge fairly though. We’ll see.

I’m looking forward to this sequel mainly I personally think LRY is most mesmerizing in armor and on horse. He somehow appeared blander in other types of roles. He looked genuinely agile and very competent in combating scenes that highlight a stark nonetheless interesting contrast to his scholastic looks. lol. It’s attractive! lmao.

Per my experience (not exhaustive), ZLY is the only actress among her peers that were able to exude female warrior aura without loosing feministic appeal on screen. After her, now Tian Xiwei in the hit drama Pursuit of Jade joins her league. Other than these two, I have to shrug off all other actresses ever trying to assume a warrior role. It would be a challenge for WYTT to rival ZLY from this perspective.

I’m seeing C costume drama in a promising direction to have more interesting story telling. The Double, Blossom, Legend of Zanhai, Fated Heart, and Pursuit of Jade, just to name a few. I hope the trend stays. This should be a norm in C drama production. Given the richness of Chinese history and the culture, there should be a lot more intriguing tales to entertain viewers’ imagination rather than dragging us through snoozfest. lol

  5. An epic flop! Neither LYR nor the PD for the Double can save this drama from poor acting of the FL and the 2nd ML.

LRY’s horse riding and fighting scenes looked so convincing! This drama completely wasted his talent.
