Indulge me for once because I truly felt like I was back around 1999. That’s during the heyday of the Four Sky Kings and honestly the last period I even paid attention to Hong Kong’s most famous stars who all acted and sang. Fast forward 20 years (!) and over 50 years old Aaron Kwok is still holding a star-packed … Continue reading →
Well this is an interesting look for male lead Lee Seung Gi in the latest stills for his upcoming action vengeance drama Vagabond. He looks less vagabond and more petty street thug, what with the ashy blond hair, Hawaiian shit over sweat stained tank top, military pants, and flip flops. It’s awful and absolutely on point in conveying a rebellious … Continue reading →
As I am writing this, the ticket sales for the comedy disaster movie Exit is at 9.7 million so it even has a chance to break 10 million which is a incredible milestone beyond what it has already accomplished. The movie is the summer 2019 hit of the Korean box office but unfortunately will not get the title of biggest … Continue reading →
The bags are packed again and the cast and crew of upcoming tvN drama Crash Landed Love is on the move. Overseas filming wrapped in Switzerland and male lead Hyun Bin was out at a brand event in Seoul earlier this week. Now he’s headed to Mongolia as the overseas filming continues onward to a country that I don’t recall … Continue reading →
The early set of stills came out a few weeks ago for K-actress Song Hye Kyo‘s shoe pictorial and now we get a few more to round out the set, all sneaks and sandals that are quite basic but for them being wore by the queen of K-media buzz these days. Song Hye Kyo can’t escape attention even if she … Continue reading →
Smaller cable network TV Chosun has picked up the K-drama remake of US show Leverage, calling it Leverage: Fraud Control Operation and made it all sleek and shiny. The first teaser is out and shows the five leads walking purposefully through a field with the wind artfully blowing and everyone doing their best catwalk strut with a smirk. Lee Dong … Continue reading →
Normally it’s the men who don’t age much while us ladies confront the ravages of time head on. In the case of the leads of 2002 K-drama Successful Story of a Bright Girl, it’s the opposite and still a marvel to wonder over. K-actress Jang Nara is filming the drama VIP and sports a long straight hair look that’s very … Continue reading →
Dang, if there was ever a K-actor suitable for cross-dressing as a woman who is not early era Jang Geun Seok the crown has now passed to rising actor Jang Dong Yoon. He continues to amaze and astound in the latest drama poster for The Tale of Nokdu, playing a rich family runaway warrior gentlemen pretending to be a widower … Continue reading →
It’s a quiet entertainment week in K-ent with Chuseok (Mid-Autumn Festival) where families gather and there’s a few days of national vacation. Some dramas are on hiatus but I haven’t been following any of the midweek ones so it hasn’t interrupted my watch schedule. Into this quiet lull K-actor Lee Min Ho dropped three pictures of himself that his fans … Continue reading →
Better late than never when it comes to more Hotel Del Luna goodies. I think I was thirsty for a compelling and interesting K-drama for so long that I liked Hotel more than it probably deserves qualitatively. Ultimately the central romance felt less opposite sex than familial love but that’s what the drama naturally progressed to. The highly teased cameo … Continue reading →
Holy shit someone should have given me warning for this reunion because imma almost collapsed from joy and shock. Kim Heechul is the host of  KBS2’s variety show Some-Vival 1+1 and this week even he was surprised and thrilled to see as a guest his former Super Junior member Kim Ki Bum. Heechul and Kibum were probably the most famous … Continue reading →
Someone on the Netflix Asia team deserves a raise for smartly and oddly pairing up two very similar entertainment stars from different countries for a new show. Jasper Liu from Taiwan and Lee Seung Gi from South Korea have embarked on a travelogue show called Together airing this fall on Netflix Asia with their first stop being Indonesia. It’s part … Continue reading →
There’s a new look for a Joseon sageuk female lead and it’s circa the 1980’s with bangs and a slightly curved bob. Kim So Hyun lops off her long hair in rebellion in her character teaser preview for The Tale of Nokdu, a change from her gender norm much like male lead Jang Dong Yoon cross-dresses as a widowed woman … Continue reading →
