C-dramas have been on a casting spurt for 2026 projects and I hope to see more coming out of K-drama land as well. This one looks promising to me, Kim So Hyun and Choo Young Woo are in talks for a cable network ENA K-drama Romance Expert (or Romance Ph.D). Kim So Hyun’s character was a student about to major … Continue reading →
The diss on Jang Ki Yong is that he has the whole visual package but his acting remains very rote and average. With that said, he always exhibits onscreen romantic chemistry with any female lead and any time I see him do a couple’s pictorial it’s always A+++ level. That means something right lol? He along with female lead Ahn … Continue reading →
When I see the posters and teaser stills for K-drama Dear X it totally gives off a certain vibe and I couldn’t quite place my finger on it until recently. It’s giving off teen/young adult angst vampire movie vibes, like a K-version of Twilight more than a serial killer type show. No diss since the end production remains to be … Continue reading →
It’s nearing the end of the year already and for K-dramas there are only a few left that will premiere in the next two months. I’m looking forward to SBS rom-com K-drama Dynamite Kiss (She Shouldn’t Have Kissed) with Ahn Eun Jin and Jang Ki Yong, a totally unexpected onscreen pairing but one that could work. She can act circles … Continue reading →
Currently Yoona and Lee Chae Min are probably in the lead for favorite romance K-drama OTP pairing in 2025, with runner ups probably Han Ji Min and Lee Joon Hyuk in Love Scout and also IU and Park Bo Gum in When Life Gives You Tangerines. There is two more months left in the year and this upcoming drama has … Continue reading →
The title for Jeon Ji Hyun‘s most recent last drama Tempest ended up being fitting for all the wrong reasons, with scenes and dialogue drawing the ire of Mainland Chinese viewers for what was deemed insulting to their country. A true tempest in a teapot if you will. But life goes on and she’s now in talks for her next … Continue reading →
A K-drama just finished airing last weekend with jTBC Sat-Sun weekend series A Hundred Memories concluding its 12-episode run. The period drama was set in the 1980s centered around two girls who meet from working as bus conductor hostesses when that job was still in existence, and a love triangle with the male lead along with the two girls friendship … Continue reading →
The dark twisty thriller K-drama Dear X is a few weeks away from premiering on cable network TVING on November 6th and the promos keep on captivating. The latest is a Marie Claire Korea pictorial with leads Kim Yoo Jung and Kim Young Dae done in black and white going for muted sleek visuals. Kim Yoo Jung is already previewing … Continue reading →
Oh how I would love to be a fly on the wall when this all went down this week, or perhaps it was already in the making and just announced in one fell swoop. This week the production of the K-drama Inside Men, an adaptation of the same name 2015 movie, announced that main leads Song Kang Ho, Su Ae, … Continue reading →
It’s a tough market for K-drama romances in recent two months. More are failing to land or connect with audiences whether the set up or genre, other than the mega hit Bon Appétit, Your Majesty and My Troublesome Star doing better than expected, the rest are duds including My Youth and A Hundred Memories. The dramas I’m still looking forward … Continue reading →
So I thought there was only one soul swapping sageuk K-drama on deck but there is actually two!! I think I missed the memo that this was the new IT genre in K-drama land but it’s coming. This month Moon River (The Moon Flows in the River) will premiere on October 31st starring Kang Tae Oh and Kim Se Jung … Continue reading →
The Hong Sisters have tried many different genres and conceits so I am surprised they are doing a follow up or spin-off of sorts for their next drama topic. Filming has started on Grand Galaxy Hotel, from the same universe as their popular drama Hotel Del Luna, about a hotel for spirits in the in between. This drama stars Lee … Continue reading →
It’s been a week since Genie, Make a Wish premiered last Friday on Netflix, dropping all episodes at once. Penned by drama hitmaker Kim Eun Seok and starring top stars Kim Woo Bin and Suzy in a reunion from their tearjerking Uncontrollably Fond, the drama has gotten one of the most polar opposite receptions and reviews in recent memory. Most … Continue reading →
