So I love this drama’s English title lol, tvN drama Nice to Not Meet You is starting promos off right with me on that alone. The Korean title is Annoying Love or Petty Love but I love when tvN does punny English titles right with creativity and edge like here. The drama stars Lee Jung Jae and Lim Ji Yeon … Continue reading →
Okay, I am so sat for this now. The latest previews for Genie, Make a Wish have convinced me this is back to being right up Kim Eun Sook‘s alley of taking a totally random set up and crafting a compelling story. I mean, City Hall is still my favorite all-time K-drama even nearly 20 years later. The drama premieres … Continue reading →
Netflix‘s Korean son as returned lol! It’s a very happy October start for K-actor Song Kang, as evidenced by his beaming smile in the below pictures as he’s driven away from base with fans giving him cards and flowers. Song Kang went into the military right after finishing My Demon and goodness that was almost two years ago now, as … Continue reading →
The tale of a modern Michelin starred chef and her tyrant gourmet counissoeur in sageuk K-drama Bon Appétit, Your Majesty wrapped its incredibly successful run this weekend, with the final episode getting 17.107% and making it the 7th highest rated drama in tvN history. It now sits right under another time-traveling to Joseon era chef K-drama in Queen Cheorin (Mr. … Continue reading →
It was clear this situation would not dissipate quickly, what from the breadth of the anger and complaints by C-netizens over Jeon Ji Hyun‘s currently airing K-drama Tempest having scenes and dialogue that insult China. Jeon Ji Hyun’s brand advertisements have been pulled in China and her upcoming CF shoot with a Chinese brand was reportedly cancelled/postponed. Now the fallout … Continue reading →
I don’t think viewers would have expected jTBC drama My Youth to do well in ratings by the genre or storyboard but for the fact that it starred Song Joong Ki who has had a string of hit K-dramas in the last few years with Vincenzo and Reborn Rich. But not everything he touches is a guaranteed hit and My … Continue reading →
So the online negative commentary around C-actress Yu Shu Xin earlier this month will indeed impact her next C-drama. She was confirmed for the wuxia period drama A Journey to Glow, the companion next project to C-drama A Journey to Love. The male lead was not yet confirmed but by all accounts it was going to be Wang An Yu … Continue reading →
So I’m getting such major deja vu with the promos for upcoming SBS rom-com Will You Marry Me. I love leads Choi Woo Shik and Jung So Min and the premise, and the promos look so good but so did Love Next Door and that drama bamboozled me so hard with how much I loved those leads and wanted to … Continue reading →
It looks like the controversy in Mainland China over K-actress Jeon Ji Hyun’s new K-drama Tempest having scenes or dialogue that allegedly insult the country has reached a nadir. The top brands such as Piaget, La Mer, Louis Vuitton and more which have running advertisements and online CFs featuring Jeon Ji Hyun as their brand spokesmodel have all pulled anything … Continue reading →
It’s been a disappointing year (so far) for streaming platform Disney+ with it’s K-content. Maybe the fall of Kim Soo Hyun and delay of what would have been the platform’s biggest K-drama this year with Knock-Off was a sign of what’s to come. Fantasy action Twelve was a bomb and political thriller Tempest is getting more news over controversy than … Continue reading →
Well this is much ado about nothing lol. Jeon Ji Hyun is back on the small screen this month with political thriller Tempest opposite Kang Dong Won, and the series airs on Disney+ so there are no ratings to report but the streaming viewership appears to be solid enough. This week in the new episode aired, C-netizens got offended by … Continue reading →
So all the attention, rightly, is on tvN runaway weekend hit Bon Appétit, Your Majesty but there is actually another rom-com that has turned into a hit for a different network as well just not as stratospheric in ratings. Small cable network ENA premiered My Troublesome Star with Uhm Jung Hwa and Song Seung Heon last month on Mon-Tues and … Continue reading →
This is the first promo from upcoming Netflix fantasy K-drama Genie, Make a Wish that didn’t make me want to laugh at it. The drama released a ton of new drama and character stills this week all of which form together to actually tease a full story complete with other characters beyond the killer genie and his lamp rubbing actress … Continue reading →
