I normally leave the credits for the end of a post, but I simply must acknowlege and bow down to the supreme screencapping skills of 麦兜白白 (Ling Du Bai Bai or B. Iris), a recently delurked drama fan at the Mary Stayed Out All Night Baidu bar. She posted the most crystal clear and jawdroppingly gorgeous screencaps of episodes 6 and … Continue reading →
Never underestimate the power of a hot star and his amazingly organized and powerful fan base. 2010’s Yahoo Buzz Awards, a fan-voted awards show (the very definition of a popularity contest), closed its voting three days ago. The winner of both the Top Buzz Male Korea Star Award and the Top Buzz Male Asia Star Award is Jang Geun Seok. … Continue reading →
I rarely, if ever, care about this type of ancillary drama stuff. The fact that I am posting about it indicates how totally gone I am about Mary Stayed Out All Night (Marry Me, Mary!). When I re-read my own M3 recaps, I’m reminded that this isn’t the best drama by even a million and one shot. But (*shrugs*) I … Continue reading →
Park Shin Hye is currently in Taiwan filming the GTV drama Hayate the Combat Butler with her co-star George Hu. The drama is an adaptation of a popular shonen manga, and has tentatively gotten an April 2011 air date. George plays a, what else, martial arts wielding butler to Park Shin Hye’s granddaughter of a chaebol. I’ve never read the … Continue reading →
Did any of my friends think I would let this drama pass on by without acknowledging it? Not bloody likely – even if my ambivalence and curiosity are waging an internal battle royale. The next sacrificial lamb MBC drama to attempt to break the two year long Wed-Thurs curse (which recently ate up Playful Kiss) will be My Princess, starring … Continue reading →
Mary Stayed Out All Night (Marry Me, Mary!) continues to confound me. I was supposed to be watching a certain drama last night (it was no chore, this drama is well on its way to being crowned my best drama of 2010), but I got sidetracked by, what else, M3. Sigh, I am hopeless. I guess my addiction is your … Continue reading →
My wonderful drama friends have been nothing if not generous with their time and talent. I’ve steadily been getting tons of custom headers for AKP, and I cannot thank enough those folks who have given me such wonderful gifts – a big shout out to wiggles and vorticella! You can find all the current batch of headers in this post. … Continue reading →
Hola, PKissers! Don’t think that I’m a fickle koala, moving on and forgetting all about our darling Ha Ni and Seung Jo, sitting in a tree, K.I.S.S.I.N.G, and making babies. While chatting about Playful Kiss with a drama friend who recently started marathoning it, I reminisced internally about how wonderful the early episodes were – funny, delightful, and refreshing to see in … Continue reading →
The written previews for Secret Garden really are the pits. It’s poorly written, and rather pointless since it gives nothing meaningful away. But since we’re all addicted and anything is better than nothing at all, I bring you the collective written previews for episodes 7 and 8, which will be airing this weekend. Let me preface by saying that so … Continue reading →
I’ve been wearing out my You’re Beautiful OST whilst waiting for my Mary Stayed Out All Night OST to arrive. It’s purely a rom-com plus Jang Geun Seok association, because the two soundtracks are quite different. Its funny that I’m listening to the YB OST more now than I did when YB was airing. Everyone knows the main songs from … Continue reading →
Man, I feel it’s the Playful Kiss days all over again. This time with a whole new group of friends to spazz with (including some PKissers who’ve found a new drama plaything). Bringing you a Mary Stayed Out All Night update. Nothing terribly spazz-worthy – it’s a slow news day, which only means the cast and crew are knee deep … Continue reading →
SBS posted a boatload of drama information about its upcoming Mon-Tues drama Athena: Goddess of War. All of these are taken directly from the SBS Athena website. It’s quite lengthy, and give away the plot set-up and character details, so don’t read if you don’t want to be mildly spoiled. I’ve also provided the latest trailers for Athena – the … Continue reading →
THIS was the episode, folks. Episode 7 of Mary Stayed Out All Night (Marry Me, Mary!) was the turning point for this drama in my mind. It’s the moment where the drama shows hand, and tells us whether it’s capable to doing emotional heft alongside lightweight fluff. And the answer is a resounding yes. If I cut out all the … Continue reading →
