Lol I can’t believe on the heel of writing an article about C-actor Zhang Ling He maybe becoming overexposed from doing too many dramas in a row, he goes and starts filming another one. I like the guy but he needs one massive hit to really justify how he keeps getting cast recently. Filming has kicked off for period C-drama … Continue reading →
Some male K-stars turn into big boys when they enter mandatory military service and others just surprise with how they turn army-core into a cosplay. Nam Joo Hyuk and Jinyoung are both serving and K-netizens are just swooning over how both look soooooo fine in service. I can’t disagree, Jinyoung still has his babyface but still projects service swagger but … Continue reading →
jTBC just premiered Strong Girl Nam Soon last weekend, the follow up drama to the 2017 Strong Girl Bong Soon both centered around a family of very very very physically strong women who all look super feminine. The OG leads Park Bo Young and Park Hyung Sik are making cameo appearances in Nam Soon and from the stills just released … Continue reading →
Gosh, I remember when I first got into K-dramas it was the visuals that hooked me more than the plots and characters because the industry really understood that a very handsome man and a very beautiful woman falling in love would be worth checking out even if the plot goes to pot. The downfall of the Hallyu drama is that … Continue reading →
It takes brick upon brick to build a foundation and one big storm to potentially tear it down. C-actress Wang Chu Ran‘s rise to female lead has been backed by her agency but this summer’s poorly received performance and character in Fireworks of My Heart has done enough to wobble things a bit. She was called out for saying she … Continue reading →
There is a new period C-drama casting called Chao Xue Lu (朝雪录) that has Bai Lu and newly breakout Cheng Lei as the leads. It’s a mystery detective thriller which kinda sounds like Cheng Lei’s last drama My Journey to You which was basically a game of Clue crossed with wuxia gothic-core sprinkled with a side of The Bachelor/The Bachelorette. … Continue reading →
Last year 2022 was a big year for K-celeb weddings and one of the high profile weddings was eclectic top actress Gong Hyo Jin with younger singer Kevin Oh. The two tied the knot in October in an upstate New York wedding that reflected their tastes and surrounded by family and friends. They are so low key it’s like they … Continue reading →
K-dramas have been on a lull for me last month but I’m loving A Good Day to be a Dog (so silly and cute) and now I also have a date set for SBS fantasy romance My Demon with Kim Yoo Jung and Song Kang. SBS released the first teaser today and confirmed a November 24th premiere which seems still … Continue reading →
So the casting shaker went back to tumbling after earlier rumors of the leads for the C-drama adaptation of Offering Salted Fish to Master (Xian Yu) and now it’s confirmed with totally different stars. Chen Fei Yu and Ju Jing Yi will be pairing up for this highly anticipated by fans project based on a popular novel. The filming is … Continue reading →
I mean, I didn’t know this was one option in order to get un-cancelled in entertainment lol. It is not an unheard of thing in Taiwanese culture, that of legally changing one’s name in order to change one’s fate. Reportedly parents will change a kid’s name if the kid is a bad student, or had a very bad illness, or … Continue reading →
The Zhang Ling He is everywhere talk has been building and kinda crescendo’d this week with insider talks of him in yet another C-drama. He’s done 8 (!) straight iQiyi C-dramas in a row in the span of 3 years, including supporting, cameo, and lead roles and while some have been mega hits like Love Between Fairy and Devil or … Continue reading →
I hope this drama gets a real English title soon because calling it Tibetan Sea Opera just frustrates the geography nerd in me. The drama is reportedly announcing official casting soon but the lead will be Xiao Zhan with lesser known Sun Yi as the female lead and Li Hong Yi (the other dude who facetwins with Cheng Yi and … Continue reading →
So the casting of C-drama Wan Zha Chao Huang (English title of the source manhua is Cheating Men Must Die) is for sure Dilraba Dilmurat as the female lead and with the story being that she time and life hops around into different situations where she is the soul inside the female lead and enacts revenge on the cheating man … Continue reading →
