I don’t know what went wrong with tvN drama Melt Me Softly but it comes across as a sticky melting ice pop that a viewer can’t find enjoyment with. I loved the premise, two people get cryogentically frozen for 20 years and return to regain their lives and also conveniently fall in love. But I don’t connect with Ji Chang … Continue reading →
A shocking and unexpected loss in K-ent started off this week with news that young star Sulli committed suicide. The rest of the week will be a quiet one for the industry as one star after another has cancelled scheduled public events including: Song Hye Kyo for a jewelry brand, Kim Yoo Jung at a beauty brand, idols SuperM, NCT … Continue reading →
The big crop of child stars from a decade ago are now all adult actors in their own right, albeit still on the fresh-faced young side, but K-ent continues to nurture talent and one I’ve been keeping an eye on is teen actress Kim Hwan Hee. She debuted a wee one in Robbers as Lee Da Hae‘s daughter and also … Continue reading →
I’m glad there is a substantive story with a birth mystery grounding this sageuk otherwise on click bait developments alone it’s barreling full speed ahead. KBS Mon-Tues drama The Tale of Nokdu only aired one episode this week and for a 5th episode it broke a ton of norms in K-dramas. It’s one of the earliest kisses between the leads … Continue reading →
MBC drama People With Flaws got embroiled tangentially in the off screen divorce drama surrounding male lead Ahn Jae Hyun but hopefully that’s all in the past now and viewers can anticipate this drama solely on its intended merits. I still think the set up is too K-drama opposites attract, a man focused on good looks and a woman who … Continue reading →
It’s easy to just point fingers, much more important to look at the entire picture. Young idol-actress Sulli (Choi Jin Ri) committed suicide on October 14th after spending over a decade in the entertainment world first as a child actress and later as an idol member of f(x) and finally back to being an actress and solo singer. Her looks … Continue reading →
I see a movie in the making, or at least a tableau that typically only happens in the backstage and after party of the Baeksang Awards. K-actress Im Soo Jung posted a picture on her SNS attending a party with famous film stars Ha Jung Woo and Jo Jin Woong, along with rising young actors Park So Dam and Jang … Continue reading →
I’m going to say this – this young woman was taken too early from life because of the words of thousands and tens of thousands of K-netizens piled onto whatever emotional and mental demons she was battling. SM Entertainment‘s most tabloid targeted idol-actress Sulli (Choi Jin Ri) was found dead in the wee morning hours of October 14th. Her manager … Continue reading →
I have eyes, it works pretty well I would say, and when I see TW-actor and variety star Wu Zun it think this man has not aged a lick. He debuted 15 years ago at 25 and this year he turns 40, and with it he shared some new SNS pictures that look like a 20-something living a fun life. … Continue reading →
It’s undeniable that Kim Soo Hyun picked a perfect way to return to acting post-military, whether it was calculated or genuinely a supportive friend thing to do for both leads. His 10-second cameo at the very end of Hotel Del Luna stole a lot of thunder, confirming that he’s a movie star on top of being an actor with skills. … Continue reading →
I…..I wish Vagabond was straight up good. Good and enjoyable rather than good and exhausting, which is good with an asterisk and we all know that’s what will follow a project when all is said and done. SBS Fri-Sat drama Vagabond aired up to episode 8 this weekend, halfway done now and perhaps halfway into uncovering the conspiracy that caused … Continue reading →
Remember this bromance pose and picture above, when actors Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook were promoting their hit fantasy romance drama Goblin. Imma not going to lie, I loved the drama but didn’t love the OTP chemistry or story line, but loved the frenemy and bromance chemistry and story line of the male leads. The two leads have since … Continue reading →
Now this is quite a lovely wedding even if I didn’t follow along with the courtship. Idol singer and variety star Kangnam dated retired Olympic speed skating champion Lee Sang Hwa for the past year and the two got married this weekend in Seoul in a well-attended ceremony with plenty of entertainment and sports world guests. They seemed to move … Continue reading →
